Brad Marchand netted his 23rd goal of the season in beautiful fashion on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Kings. Lining up for an offensive zone faceoff against Anze Kopitar, Patrice Bergeron won the draw to his right, finding Marchand on the wing. With Danton Heinen setting a pick, Marchand was able to rifle off a shot that beat kings goalie Jack Campbell to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead. Boston went on to win 4-2. The NHL released its 2018 All-Star Game rosters Wednesday, and Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand will represent the Atlantic Division for the second consecutive season. Marchand, who was named an All-Star for the first time last season, leads the Bruins in scoring this season with 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points in 32 games. He is among the NHL’s leaders in several categories, including points per game (fourth), goals per game (eighth) and plus/minus (ninth).Marchand, a third-round pick in 2006, is coming off a 2016-17 season in which he totaled career-highs in goals (39), assists (46) and points (85). ... The Boston Bruins squeaked by the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday when they beat the expansion team 2-1 at TD Garden. The B’s have suffered a glut of early-season injuries, and another notable name appeared as a non-participant in Friday’s practice — Brad Marchand. Bergeron buried a rebound that came off a shot from linemate Brad Marchand. Game 6 at TD Garden is the fourth contest of this series to go to overtime. The Senators are 2-1 in these games. The Bruins were able to find a way to beat Ottawa’s neutral zone trap by getting pucks deep in the offensive zone and gaining possession to create scoring chances.
