Share this: These aren’t your grandfather’s Boston Celtics. Scratch that — as far as familiar lineups go, these aren’t anyone’s Celtics. Boston entered the summer with the potential for a roster overhaul, and that’s exactly what we’ve gotten: Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk and other ancillary pieces from the Celtics’ 2016-17 club are out the door, making room for Gordon Hayward, Marcus Morris, Aron Baynes and four draft picks, highlighted by No. 3 overall selection Jayson Tatum. We still don’t know if president of basketball operations Danny Ainge has more roster moves in store. For the most part, though, the major work is done. That begs the question: What will this team look like in the 2017-18 season? It’s a simple question with a very

Gordon Hayward Spotted All Over Boston, Appears To Be Loving His New Home
Share this: Gordon Hayward isn’t officially a member of the Boston Celtics yet, but he’s already embracing his new life in the Hub. The NBA All-Star announced earlier this week he’s going to sign a contract with the Celtics, a four-year deal worth a reported $128 million. And while the Celtics still haven’t figured out their tricky salary cap dilemma yet, it’s assumed Hayward officially signs and is introduced by the team as early as Friday. And we know that because Hayward is already in Boston. Fans spotted him buying suits (for a press conference, we’d assume) Thursday night, and that wasn’t all he was doing. Social media basically lets us spy on folks in public, and there was no shortage of C’s
Gordon Hayward Rumors: Latest News, Contract Info On NBA Free Agent
Utah Jazz forward Gordon Hayward is one of the top NBA free agents on the market, and there are several teams interested in his services. Hayward has meetings lined up this weekend with the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz, per ESPN’s Marc Stein, setting the stage for some potential fireworks on July 4. The 27-year-old star has been linked with the Celtics quite often, with the obvious connection being Boston head coach Brad Stevens, who recruited and coached Hayward while the two were at Butler University. But the C’s appear to have stiff competition for Hayward, who averaged a career-high 21.9 points per game last season. Kee... NESN.com
Avery Bradley Feels ‘Lucky’ To Play For Celtics Coach Brad Stevens
Share this: The Boston Celtics’ 2016-17 season is over, but the lessons the young C’s learned from head coach Brad Stevens throughout the year will last forever. LeBron James, Cavs’ Big Three Dash Any Chance Celtics Had To Come Back
The Boston Celtics had to be feeling good at halftime Tuesday night. They had just played a great first half in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and LeBron James already was in foul trouble with the C’s leading by 10 at the break. “I thought we played as well as maybe we have the entire playoffs during the first half,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens told reporters afterward. But that good feeling was a fleeting one. The Cavs erased what once was a 16-point deficit and charged to a 112-99 win at Quicken Loans Arena. And with the win, they took a 3-1 series lead and moved one victory away from reaching
Celtics Notes: Isaiah Thomas, Boston Embracing Game 7 Challenge Vs. Wizards
Share this: The Boston Celtics were this close to winning Friday night’s Game 6 and advancing to the Eastern Conference finals, but John Wall and the Washington Wizards made sure there would be a Game 7 on Monday night. But despite the heartbreaking way the game ended for the C’s, they already were anticipating the opportunity ahead following the Wizards’ 92-91 win at Verizon Center. “That’s where all the great players make their name,” point guard Isaiah Thomas told reporters after the game, as transcribed by ESPN’s Chris Forsberg. “You gotta give it everything you’ve got. I guess, where legends are born. I’m excited. We couldn’t take care of business tonight, an unbelievable shot by John Wall. To have Game 7 back in Boston in
Brad Stevens Gives Great Explanation Of Isaiah Thomas’ Drive For Excellence
Share this: Isaiah Thomas has taken his game to another level in the 2017 NBA playoffs. The Boston Celtics guard has been an offensive machine through the team’s first eight games of the postseason, averaging 28 points per contest. Thomas’ heroics led the Celtics to a comeback series win over the Chicago Bulls in the first round, and currently has Boston sitting on a 2-0 series lead over the Washington Wizards in their Eastern Conference semifinals matchup. Prior to Game 3 of Celtics-Wizards, Brad Stevens was asked to shed light on Thomas’ pursuit of excellence, and the Celtics head coach responded with an awesome answer. Here’s Stevens’ full comment, courtesy of MassLive’s Jay King. So just how good has Thomas been in this year’s playoffs? So good,
