The Boston Bruins squeaked by the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday when they beat the expansion team 2-1 at TD Garden. The B’s have suffered a glut of early-season injuries, and another notable name appeared as a non-participant in Friday’s practice — Brad Marchand. Head coach Bruce Cassidy, however, said it’s nothing serious, and that the Bruins just wanted to give Marchand the day off since he’s been logging so much ice time. Brad Stevens Knows Celtics Must ‘Find Some Answers’ For Talented Bucks
BOSTON — The Boston Celtics had only seen the Milwaukee Bucks once before their 103-100 loss Wednesday night, but the Bucks clearly present a challenge to the Celtics. Milwaukee’s ability to put rangy, athletic lineups on the floor bothered Boston for most of the night, especially during the first half. And if the two teams were to meet in the NBA playoffs, the Celtics will need to figure out how to attack the Bucks. “They’ve been one of the best teams in the East over the last month and a half,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens said. “So, I’m not surprised by their level and their level is really high. When we go small

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Denny Hamlin figured it would just be a nice, easy practice day for him Friday at Daytona International Speedway. Brad Marchand Continues Hot Streak With Fastest Goal In Bruins History (Video)
Blink at your own risk during this Boston Bruins-Detroit Red Wings matchup. The two teams combined for three goals in the opening three minutes and five in the first period Sunday afternoon. And Brad Marchand got it all started just eight seconds in. Marchand scored his 28th goal of the season after Brett Connolly won an offensive-zone faceoff and passed the puck back to the Bruins winger, whose wrist shot beat Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek. It was his seventh straight game with a goal and his 13th tally in his last 13 contests. Oh, and it also was the fastest goal to start a game in team history. Not a bad start. Not bad at
