What is going on with the Boston Celtics? That’s been the million-dollar question all season, as Boston has struggled against some of the league’s worst teams this season. That trend continued when the C’s suffered an ugly 126-116 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday at United Center. Boston has yet to win since coming off its All-Star break. The Green, understandably, has high expectations to reach the NBA Finals, but it’s going to be a long, hard road if the team continues to struggle. If you ask Marcus Smart, though, he thinks he knows the reason behind why his team is having trouble winning. It’s certainly worrisome hearing one of... NESN.com

Bart Scott Calls Out Browns For Helping Patriots With Josh Gordon Trade
After their embarrassing Week 2 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New England Patriots clearly needed help on the offensive side of the ball. And the Cleveland Browns were all too happy to oblige. Cleveland traded talented but troubled wideout Josh Gordon to the Patriots, along with a 2019 seventh-round draft pick Monday, in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2019. While the jury still out on whether or not Gordon will make an impact for a Patriots’ offense starved for downfield weapons, one former rival of the Patriots isn’t happy that Cleveland made the trade. Bart Scott, who played linebacker for the New York Jets from 2009-12, ... NESN.com
Pedro Martinez Calls Out Yankees On Twitter As MLB Playoffs Near
Pedro Martinez is going to call it like he sees it. The legendary pitcher was unapologetically candid throughout Hall of Fame career, and not much has changed in the years since he hung up his cleats. Martinez lived up to this billing Tuesday night when he took to Twitter to point out where he believes the New York Yankees are lacking. It hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for the Yankees in the second half thus far, which recently allowed the Boston Red Sox to extend their American League East division lead to double-digits. But there’s still over a month of the regular season remaining, and the eventual return of Aaron Judge undoubtedly
Cubs’ 9-8 NLDS Win Over Nationals Marred By Controversial Calls
The Chicago Cubs earned a trip to their third straight National League Championship Series on Thursday, but it wasn’t without controversy. The Cubs beat the Washington Nationals in Game 5 of their NL Division Series, squeaking by in a hard-fought contest with a 9-8 win. But one call made in the fifth inning and another in the eighth could have changed the outcome of the one-run game. The first call was blatantly missed, as Nationals ace Max Scherzer, who was pitching in relief, struck out Javier Baez for what would have been out No. 3, but the ball snuck by catcher Matt Wieters and rolled to the backstop, allowing Baez to reach first and scoring
Smithfield Calls Out Richard Petty Motorsports For ‘Years Of Subpar Performance’
It looks like Richard Petty Motorsports and its soon-to-be former sponsor Smithfield Foods aren’t wasting any time airing out their dirty laundry. Smithfield CEO Kenneth Sullivan issued a response to Richard Petty’s statement Tuesday, and he didn’t pull any punches, calling out RPM for “years of subpar performance on the track.” Earlier Tuesday, Petty said that he and his eponymous team were “extremely disappointed” — words that Sullivan echoed in his statement — with Smithfield’s decision to sign with Stewart-Haas Racing for 2018. The seven-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion also claimed that Smithfield had made a handsh... NESN.com
Announcer Gives Hilarious Home Run Call After Manny Ramirez’s Blast
Share this: Former major leaguer Manny Ramirez still can rake. Ramirez currently plays for the Kochi Island Fighting Dogs of Japan’s independent Shikoku Island League and is living the baseball high-life, which includes unlimited sushi and amazing home run calls by commentators. The former Boston Red Sox outfielder and 2017 National Baseball Hall of Fame nominee went yard Saturday, and it led to one of the greatest home run calls that we’ve ever heard. “This ball is long gone just like the ex-girlfriend who will never return,” the announcer said, as transcribed by USA TODAY’s For The Win. We hope Ramirez keeps hitting bombs so we can get more of these outstanding calls. Thumbnail photo via Steve Mitchell/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link
Ryan Fitzpatrick Calls Out Entire Jets Organization For Not Believing In Him
Even when the New York Jets earn a rare win, they find a way to stir up some controversy. Such was the case Sunday after New York’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens, which improved the team to 2-5. The Jets rolled with Geno Smith at quarterback over Ryan Fitzpatrick after Fitzpatrick’s brutal game last week. But when Smith exited the game with a knee injury in the second quarter, the team was forced to turn back to Fitzpatrick, and the veteran QB delivered, going 9 of 14 for 120 yards and a passing touchdown to lead New York to a 24-16 win. After the game, Fitzpatrick sounded off on the Jets’ decision to start
