The nose tackle, who’s spent the last two seasons with the Texans after 11 years with the New England Patriots, is considering retirement, which could potentially come Saturday should Houston lose. Wilfork told reporters Tuesday that he’d rather go out on his own terms. “It’s something I’ve been thinking about,” Wilfork said, per the Houston Chronicle. “It is a possibility. I’ve been playing for a while. I love this game. One of the hardest pills to swallow is when you leave something you love. I still love the game. My body feels good, but do I

Robert Mathis Announces He’s Retiring After Colts’ Season Finale
Share this: Robert Mathis is calling it a career. The legendary Colts pass rusher announced Friday he’s retiring after Sunday’s season finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Lucas Oil Stadium. Mathis, a fifth-round draft pick in 2003, has spent his entire 13-year career with Indianapolis. Mathis, a six-time Pro Bowl pick, was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Year for the 2013 NFL season after registering a career-high 19.5 sacks. The 35-year-old enters his final game with 122 career sacks, including four in 13 games this season. Only Dwight Freeney of the Atlanta Falcons — another Colts legend — has more career sacks among active NFL players. “I want to walk away, not limp away. The rest of my body goes to my kids,”
Earl Thomas Breaks Leg In Seahawks-Panthers, Tweets About Retirement
Share this: Seahawks safety Earl Thomas suffered a heartbreaking injury in the first half of Seattle’s home game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night. He was carted off the field with a lower body injury, which NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports, citing sources, is a broken bone in his leg that will keep him sidelined indefinitely. NBC sideline reporter Michelle Tafoya said on the broadcast that Thomas suffered a cracked tibia. Thomas hurt his left leg going for an interception and colliding with teammate Kam Chancellor. He actually took to Twitter after leaving the game and mentioned retirement. This game has been so good to me no regrets.. A lot is running through my mind including retirement thanks for all the prayers. — Earl Thomas (@Earl_Thomas) December 5, 2016 Thomas has
Tom Brady Notches 199th Career Win, Ties Brett Favre For Second All Time
by Zack Cox on Sun, Nov 20, 2016 at 8:08PM 2,540 Share this: Only one quarterback in the history of the NFL has won more games than Tom Brady. And Brady could pass him early next month. The New England Patriots’ 30-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday was the 199th of Brady’s career, moving him into a tie with Hall of Famer Brett Favre for second in NFL history. Only Peyton Manning (200) has more. Brady, whose first victory came Sept. 30, 2001, was at his very best in win No. 199, shredding his hometown 49ers for four interceptions without turning the ball over. It was the 21st four-plus-touchdown, zero-interception game of Brady’s career, extending his own NFL record. The Patriots led just
Floyd Mayweather’s Reason For Not Fighting Again Is Tough To Question
Share this: Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has so many victories and so much money that he’s really not in a position to desire more of either. But that hasn’t prevented speculation of him returning to the ring for a chance to end his career with an unblemished 50-0 record. Fuel was added to that fire when Mayweather was spotted ringside during Manny Pacquiao’s recent bout with Jessie Vargas, a fight Pacquiao won convincingly. But Mayweather diffused those rumors Wednesday in Brooklyn by saying he, unlike some boxers, has no reason to come out of retirement. “A lot of fighters in the sport of boxing may want to retire, but they have to fight because they have to,” Mayweather said to USA TODAY’s Mike Coppinger. “I
Cristiane: Athens 2004 changed my career
Brazilian striker Cristiane has fond memories of playing for her country’s youth teams. She was only 15-years-old when she represented her nation for the first time, and before too long she was travelling to Canada to compete at the inaugural FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2002. “We didn’t really know how important that competition was,” she told FIFA.com, recalling a tournament in which Brazil ultimately claimed fourth place. “But it was a great experience. We were a very young group and, as we didn’t feel any pressure, it was just a pure joy to be there. But it was also there that we realised that this is what we wanted to do.” Fourteen yea... Greg Hardy Would Struggle To Learn MMA If Sport Heeds Jay Glazer’s Advice
Share this: Greg Hardy’s career in mixed martial arts will be too short to ever be painful, if Jay Glazer has his way. Shortly after Hardy announced Tuesday that he intends to become a MMA fighter, Glazer, a NFL analyst for FOX Sports and MMA trainer, used Twitter to issue a resounding “you’re not welcome here” message to the unsigned NFL player. Glazer cites Hardy’s 2014 arrest on domestic violence allegations as reason to prevent him from learning the fight trade. “I would be incredibly disappointed in any of my fellow MMA coaches and any promoters if they took Greg Hardy in and taught him a shred of our incredible sport,” Glazer wrote. “Many of us train women in self defense specifically to help
