Gordon Hayward has been under the microscope since he suffered his gruesome ankle/leg injury last October. After his devastating injury, some wondered if he ever would be the same. Those questions have haunted the 2017 All-Star throughout the season as he has been working to knock the rust off. The Butler product started the season slow, and even was moved to an unfamiliar role on the bench, but has shown glimpses of his former self lately. On Saturday night, Hayward showed the NBA world he still can ball at an elite level. Hayward was the knight in shining armor the Boston Celtics needed Saturday in their 118-109 win over the Minnesota Timberwol... NESN.com

Danny Ainge Won’t Be Impatient With Celtics Despite Frustrating Start To Season
The Boston Celtics’ season hasn’t gotten off to the start many envisioned them having before the campaign started. It’s obvious Brad Stevens, Marcus Smart and others are frustrated with the team’s 10-10 record, but the face of Boston’s brain trust isn’t panicking just yet. President of basketball operations Danny Ainge has been around long enough to know how the C’s are playing now isn’t permanent. There’s still plenty of time for Boston to turn its season around and live up to the wildly high expectations many had going into the 2018-19 campaign. “I’ve been through this many, many years, and I’m not impatient,” Ainge said, v... Celtics Notes: Brad Stevens Hints At Lineup Change After Loss To Jazz
NBA seasons often are trial by fire, and it’s clear the Boston Celtics still are figuring themselves out. The Celtics have shown flashes of brilliance early in the campaign, including Friday’s thrilling overtime win over the Toronto Raptors. But they’ve also turned in some flat-out duds, including the recent West Coast road trip and Saturday’s 98-86 loss to the Utah Jazz at TD Garden. The Jazz were the early aggressors in the teams’ final regular-season meeting of the 2018-19 set, but the Celtics punched back in the second quarter, effectively stealing back the momentum. That juice only lasted so long, however, as Utah stomped on Boston in the... NESN.com

Celtics’ Semi Ojeleye Rises To Occasion In First Start Of Season
BOSTON — The Boston Celtics were down a starter Thursday night, and an unlikely source stepped in to fill the void. With Jaylen Brown (foot soreness) sidelined for the Celtics’ matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks, conventional knowledge would lead you to believe either Marcus Smart, Terry Rozier or maybe even Marcus Morris would take Brown’s spot in the starting five. But it was Semi Ojeleye who wound up getting the nod, and the second-year forward’s efforts helped lift the C’s to a 117-113 win at TD Garden. It was a tall task for Ojeleye, who’d only logged 23 total minutes through seven games entering Thursday. The Duke product didn’t have t... NESN.com
Daniel Theis Injury: Danny Ainge Reveals Celtics Big Man’s New Timetable
It appears Daniel Theis’ “indefinite” absence will be shorter than expected. Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge provided a positive update Thursday morning on the veteran big man, who suffered a torn plantar fascia Saturday night against the Detroit Pistons. “We got good news from Daniel this week,” Ainge said during his weekly interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Toucher & Rich.” “It looks like it will be a few weeks as opposed to six or eight weeks. So, it’s not maybe quite as bad as initially thought.” Theis said earlier this week he expects to be in a walking boot for two weeks then ... NESN.com
