Share this: The Boston Red Sox’s celebration of their 2016 American League East title was the weirdest to date. The Red Sox had a three-run lead over the New York Yankees heading into the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday with their closer Craig Kimbrel on the mound. The club already clinched the AL East shortly before thanks to the Baltimore Orioles’ 3-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, but it looked as though the Red Sox would take home their own win anyway. Instead, Kimbrel loaded the bases with no outs, Joe Kelly gave up a two-out grand slam to Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira, and Boston ended up with a 5-3 loss. Phil Kessel’s Grandmother Can Party, Chugs Champagne From Stanley Cup

Phil Kessel’s grandmother should immediately vault to the top of every single guest list. Kessel brought the Stanley Cup to his hometown of Madison, Wisc., last weekend, at which point the Pittsburgh Penguins winger celebrated with family and friends. Granny Kessel stole the show, however, by chugging champagne from Lord Stanley. There’s just so much awesomeness in the video above, which Kessel’s aunt posted to Instagram. Not only was Kessel’s grandmother so nonchalant while drinking from the most coveted trophy in sports, but she also capped her party antics with a “no big deal” hand gesture. Rock on, Granny. Villa players text each other celebratory champagne bottles

A whole lot of texting went on It’s a shame really. Whilst Martin O’Neill was loitering outside Villa Park, pretending to change a tyre, but secretly waiting for a tearful Mourinho-like send off from his players, those little turds were reportedly sending one another text messages of champagne bottles, and humming “ding dong the witch has gone” while they were at it.
