Rick Porcello Praises ‘Phenomenal Job’ By Red Sox Offense In Win Vs. Yankees
Rick Porcello gave up just one earned run over six innings against the New York Yankees on Sunday to pick up his fourth straight win. But the Boston Red Sox starter gave plenty of praise to his offense after the game. The Sox scored five runs for the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner, and they were able to get to the Yankees bullpen by the sixth inning. Check out Porcello’s postgame comments in the “NESN Sports Today” video above, presented by People’s United Bank. ... NESN.com
Drew Pomeranz’s ‘Impressive Run’ Due To Ability To Limit Damage
Share this: Drew Pomeranz has been a pleasant surprise this season for the Boston Red Sox. The left-hander is on an impressive run of late, as he has delivered nine quality starts in his last 11 outings. Pomeranz is 7-1 over that time frame with a 2.57 ERA, and the Red Sox have tallied a 9-2 record in his starts since May 20. Oklahoma State Punter Creates Hilarious ’90s-Style Website For Heisman Campaign
Share this: Oklahoma State’s Zach Sinor wants to be the first punter to win the Heisman Trophy, and he has a pretty awesome website to make his case. Sinor certainly has accomplished a lot in just two seasons with the Cowboys, finishing his sophomore season as the nation’s leader in percentage of punts downed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line (62.5 percent), number of punts downed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line (35) and opponents’ starting field position. But if that wasn’t enough to convince you he’s the best player in college football — it probably wasn’t — then just check out some of his 1990s-inspired website. Sinor was born in 1995, so we’re not too sure how much of the decade he actually remembers,
Red Sox’s Marathon Loss To Yankees ‘As Bad As It Gets’ Before Doubleheader
Share this: The Boston Red Sox lost a marathon game to the New York Yankees on Saturday at Fenway Park, and that could cause some issues going forward. The Red Sox fell 4-1 in 16 innings and used every pitcher in their bullpen as well as starter Doug Fister, who took the loss. Boston and New York will play a doubleheader Sunday, meaning that Saturday’s 16-inning affair puts both teams in a difficult spot, especially when it comes to their bullpens. NESN’s Dennis Eckersley discussed what the marathon loss will mean for Sunday’s double dip, as well as Chris Sale’s dominant start against the Yankees. To hear what Eckersley had to say, check out the video above from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United
Drew Pomeranz Praises Red Sox Teammates For Bailing Him Out Vs. Yankees
Share this: Drew Pomeranz didn’t have his best stuff Friday night against the New York Yankees. The Boston Red Sox starter labored through six innings, allowing four runs on six hits with two walks. The left-hander left the ballgame on the hook for a loss, but thanks to a dramatic ninth inning, the Red Sox walked off with a 5-4 win at Fenway Park. To hear Pomeranz discuss his outing, as well as the exciting victory, check out the video above from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank. Related NESN.com Stories Source link
