Share this: Floyd Mayweather reportedly asked the IRS for a tax reprieve until after his huge fight against UFC champion Conor McGregor next month. The undefeated boxing champion is expected to make hundreds of millions of dollars for this superfight, and he boasted about being a $100 million fighter by holding up a check during Tuesday’s press conference at Staples Center in Los Angeles. McGregor, however, hit back with an impressive jab at Mayweather’s tax situation. Mayweather responded “that’s right, I’m the IRS. And I’m gonna tax your ass.” Not the best comeback, but Mayweather will get another chance when these talented fighters square off in a much-anticipated boxing match at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Aug. 26. Share this: Drew Pomeranz has been a pleasant surprise for the Boston Red Sox this season. Entering Friday, the left-hander has an 8-4 record as well as a respectable 3.64 ERA. Pomeranz certainly has improved since the Red Sox acquired him at the trade deadline last year, and manager John Farrell credits that to a number of things. Farrell believes Pomeranz has been more assertive in the strike zone, and has found success by getting ahead in the count. Not only that, but the addition of a cutter to his repertoire has made his fastball and nasty curveball even more effective.
