Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert is essentially having a very public argument with himself. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Tim Benz reported Thursday that Gilbert said Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back Le’Veon Bell wouldn’t play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers have to win in Week 17 and hope for a Patriots loss or tie to earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Otherwise, the Patriots snag it. Then came this. Well, except there’s that whole issue of audio recording technology. You can hear Gilbert say Roethlisberger, Brown and Bell won’t play at the 17:... NESN.com

Bengals’ Pacman Jones Gives Birth To Child (Football) After Return TD
Another week, another memorable touchdown celebration in the NFL. This one, however, was a little weird. During the second quarter of the Cincinnati Bengals’ 30-16 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Bengals cornerback/punt returner Adam “Pacman” Jones returned a punt 55 yards for a touchdown. After the play, Jones — who welcomed his first son to the world Saturday night — celebrated by giving birth … to a football. Check this out: And here’s another look at the celebration: OK, that was pretty funny. Here’s Jones celebrating the birth of his son, Adam Jones Jr.:
Patriots Add Andrew Hawkins To Already-Stocked Arsenal For Tom Brady
Share this: The New England Patriots signed wide receiver Andrew Hawkins to a one-year deal Wednesday afternoon, giving quarterback Tom Brady another weapon to use on the outside. Hawkins joins an already loaded wide receiving corps in New England, and he said he turned down richer offers from other teams to become a part of the Patriots’ winning culture. In 2016 with the Cleveland Browns, Hawkins had 33 receptions for 324 yards with three touchdowns. Patriots Roster Battles: Defensive Tackle Group Looks Set After Offseason Moves
by Zack Cox on Wed, May 10, 2017 at 8:47AM 2,795 Share this: The 2016 New England Patriots were strong in the trenches on both sides of the ball. That shouldn’t change this season. In addition to bringing back their entire offensive line, the Patriots remained fully stocked at defensive tackle this offseason by re-signing Alan Branch and adding former Baltimore Ravens D-lineman Lawrence Guy in free agency. Branch, perhaps the most underrated player on New England’s Super Bowl LI-winning defense, led all Patriots D-tackles with 626 defensive snaps played last season. Fellow starter Malcom Brown, who struggled with consistency at times in his second NFL season, was close behind with 596 snaps, while the third man in the interior defensive tackle rotation, Vincent Valentine,

NFL Rumors: Browns Taking QB With No. 1 Pick Would Be ‘Major Shock’
All eyes will be on the Cleveland Browns at the 2017 NFL Draft. There’s no way they screw it up, right? The Browns, of course, have this year’s No. 1 overall pick. And while Texas A&M pass rusher Myles Garrett is the consensus top player on draft boards, it’s been rumored that Cleveland is “strongly considering” taking quarterback Mitch(ell) Trubisky to fill a dire need at QB. But the Browns drew some attention Sunday by tweeting out a video of Garrett’s impressive 4.64-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter used the opportunity to throw cold water on the Trubisky-to-Cleveland rumors.
