Claude Julien is heading back to Montreal. One week after Julien was fired by the Boston Bruins, the Montreal Canadiens announced Tuesday that they fired Michel Therrien and made Julien their new head coach. “I would like to sincerely thank Michel for his relentless work with the Montreal Canadiens over his eight seasons behind the bench, including the last five seasons when we worked together,” Bergevin said in a press release, via NBCSports.com. “The decision to remove Michel from his coaching duties was a difficult one because I have lots of respect for him. “I came to the conclusion that our team needed a new energy, a new voice... How Patriots Are Blocking Out Hype Ahead Of Playoff Vs. Underdog Texans
by Zack Cox on Wed, Jan 11, 2017 at 5:36PM 2,035 Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — Three of this weekend’s divisional-round playoff games should be hotly contested affairs. The New England Patriots are playing in the fourth. The Patriots enter Saturday night’s matchup with the Houston Texans as massive 16-point favorites. If that line holds, it would be the largest for an NFL playoff game since 1998 and the fourth-largest postseason spread in league history. And it makes sense. The Patriots finished the regular season an NFL-best 14-2, while the Texans were able to sneak into the playoffs at 9-7 by winning the league’s weakest division. New England also has beaten Houston once already this season, rolling to a 27-0 victory in Week 3 with
NFL Rumors: Chargers Plan To Fire Mike McCoy After Disappointing Season
Share this: Mike McCoy will be on the sideline for the San Diego Chargers in Week 17, but it might be for the last time. The Chargers plan to fire their head coach after San Diego’s matchup against the AFC West division rival Kansas City Chiefs, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday. Thanks in part to a slew of injuries, the Bolts have stumbled to a 5-10 record this season. McCoy brought the Chargers to the playoffs as an AFC wild-card team in his first season in 2013, but they lost to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round. San Diego turned in another 9-7 season in 2014 before finishing below .500 in their last two, giving McCoy a 27-36 record over four seasons. If

Wake Forest Radio Announcer Leaked Game Plan Information To Opponents
Share this: Apparently, double agents don’t only appear in spy movies. That’s right, there are even spies in college football. According to an announcement from Wake Forest, the team’s radio announcer Tommy Elrod shared game plan information with their opponents on multiple occasions dating back to 2014. How’s that for a #wakeyleaks scandal? The school launched an investigation into a possible leak after game plan documents were found at Louisville’s stadium prior to their November game against the Cardinals. That investigation found evidence that Elrod had been leaking or attempting to leak important game plan information since 2014. Elrod played football at Wake Forest from 1993 to 1997 before joining the coaching staff and rising to quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator under former head coach Jim
LSU Lifts Interim Tag Off Ed Orgeron, Makes Him Full-Time Head Coach
Share this: Saturday has been quite the day in college football, to say the least. While much of the attention has been on the Texas coaching carousel and the instant classic between Ohio State and Michigan, the LSU Tigers also made a big move by lifting the interim tag off Ed Orgeron and making him the permanent head football coach. “This is a great day for LSU and for all of Louisiana,” vice chancellor and director of athletics Joe Alleva said, via LSUSports.net. “We got our man and he’s been here all along. Coach Orgeron has demonstrated his ability to run this program with excellence, even under difficult circumstances. Coach ‘O’ earned this job. “I worked closely with (LSU) President Alexander and board leadership throughout a very deliberate process.
