Share this: Julian Edelman is a two-time Super Bowl champion, but it looks like the New England Patriots wide receiver is trying to add another accolade to his résumé. Edelman took to Twitter on Thursday to give his pitch to EA Sports in an effort to grace the cover of “Madden 18.” In case you need a refresher, the photo Edelman used is a snapshot of his ridiculous catch in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LI, which helped the Patriots mount a historic comeback en route to a 34-28 overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons. Red Sox Wrap: Joe Mauer’s Walk-Off Bomb Lifts Twins Over Sox 4-3
The Boston Red Sox nearly earned an impressive comeback win, but the Minnesota Twins notched a walk-off victory thanks to Joe Mauer. After the Red Sox tied the game with two runs in the ninth inning, Mauer took Matt Barnes deep in the bottom half of the frame to give Minnesota the 4-3 win. Eduardo Rodriguez turned in a quality start for Boston, but the Red Sox’s quiet bats squandered the strong outing. With the loss, the Sox drop to 15-14 while the Twins improve to 15-12. Here’s how it all went down. GAME IN A WORDDeflating. The Sox mounted a great comeback in the ninth inning, but Mauer’s heroics ... NESN.com
Atlanta Hawks’ Twitter Account Got Pretty Cocky Before Patriots’ Super Bowl Comeback
The Atlanta Hawks learned the hard way Sunday night you can’t ever count out Tom Brady and the New England Patriots — and no, that’s not a typo: We’re talking about the NBA team — not the NFL team, the Falcons, which blew a 25-point lead in the biggest Super Bowl choke of all time. The Hawks have one of the NBA’s most active (and sometimes aggressive) Twitter accounts. Often times, the Hawks’ social media team is downright funny. But they got a little carried away Sunday night while tweeting about Super Bowl LI. Here’s how the Hawks started the night: Bold move. Comparing a first-round NBA playoffs series to the Super Bowl is
Bruins Wrap: B’s Comeback Falls Short in 6-5 Loss To Maple Leafs
The Boston Bruins couldn’t get back in the win column Saturday night as they lost a hard-fought 6-5 battle to the Toronto Maple Leafs at TD Garden. The B’s got on the board first before surrendering four straight goals to fall behind 4-1. Boston didn’t quit, however, as they stormed back to tie the game at four, and then again at five, before falling 6-5 on a goal with under two minutes remaining. David Pastrnak scored two goals for the Bruins, and rookie William Nylander notched a hat trick for the Maple Leafs. The Bruins fall to 26-23-6 with the loss, while the Maple Leafs improve to 24-17-9 with the victory. Here’s how
Celtics Wrap: ‘King In The Fourth’ Isaiah Thomas Leads Boston To Comeback Win
The Boston Celtics looked like they were going to lose once again to the Toronto Raptors, even without an injured DeMar DeRozan playing. Then the fourth quarter happened. The C’s came storming back from a double-digit deficit Wednesday night at TD Garden to top the Raptors 109-104 and take a 1.5 game lead in the Atlantic Division and for the Eastern Conference’s No. 2 seed. Isaiah Thomas, aka “The King in the Fourth,” had 44 points, including 19 fourth-quarter points. Jae Crowder (12 points, eight rebounds), Marcus Smart (10 points) and Al Horford (11 points) were the other C’s in double-figures. Kyle Lowry led the Raptors with 32 po... NESN.com
Celtics Wrap: Boston Mounts Furious Fourth-Quarter Comeback To Win 99-93
They say basketball is a game of runs. But a 19-0 run? Now that’s something you don’t see everyday in the NBA. But that one stretch proved to be the difference Monday night between the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves. After falling behind by double digits, the C’s mounted a furious 19-0 comeback, starting with Al Horford’s jumper at the end of the third quarter. Boston then scored the first 17 points of the fourth to take back the lead and eventually win 99-93. Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics with 29 points. Al Horford (20 points), Avery Bradley (13) and Terry Rozier (12) also finished in double figures. Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns ... NESN.com
Dortmund six-shooters wreck Legia’s comeback
Borussia Dortmund made an emphatic statement of intent in UEFA Champions League Group F by putting six unanswered goals past Legia Warszawa. The Polish champions are back on European club football's greatest stage for the first time since 1995/96 having negotiated three qualifying rounds. However, Besnik Hasi's side may not yet feel like they belong there, after conceding three goals inside 17 minutes on their comeback appearance. First Mario Götze nodded Ousmane Dembele's left-wing cross past Arkadiusz Malarz. Then, from one Raphaël Guerreiro free-kick, Sokratis Papastathopoulos headed the second; and follo... UEFA.com - News
