Is Stephen Curry The Reason For Ray Allen’s Possible NBA Comeback?

Share this: Ray Allen is considering an NBA comeback at age 41. But why? Allen made more than $184 million in salary alone during his 18 NBA seasons. He won two NBA titles, walked away with a Hall of Fame-worthy résumé and hasn’t played since the 2013-14 campaign. Perhaps it’s just the itch some athletes get, and it’ll go away at some point, scratched or unscratched. Or perhaps his desire to explore a return stems from wanting to pad his stats. Allen holds the NBA’s all-time record for 3-point field goals with 2,973. There isn’t anyone nipping at his heels, but that might not be the case for long, especially if Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry continues to drain buckets at an amazing clip. Curry

Celtics Show Resolve With Game 1 Comeback, But Slow Starts A Concern

There are two different ways to look at the Boston Celtics’ Game 1 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, and both have their merits. First, for the glass-half-full crowd: The Celtics played arguably their worst offensive first half of basketball, yet only lost by one point. After scoring just 34 first-half points and trailing by as many as 17 points, Boston displayed courage and resolve by actually taking the lead early in the fourth quarter and fighting until the very last second. “Hey, we ride this way, right?” head coach Brad Stevens said in a postgame interview aired on CSN New England. “We guard, we grind, we try to find a way. And to

Miami Completes Miracle Comeback With Eight Laterals On Final Play (Video)

The ending to Saturday’s No. 11 Duke-Miami football game was one you need to see to believe. The Blue Devils appeared to have salvaged their undefeated ACC record with a touchdown with six seconds remaining in the game. All they had to do was prevent some crazy, last-ditch effort by the Hurricanes on the ensuing kickoff. Easier said than done. WOW! Miami completed eight laterals on the play, which was ruled a touchdown after a review determined there was no block in the back. That gave Miami the 30-27 win. Serena Williams Does Split During Big Comeback Win At U.S. Open (Video)

Serena Williams’ hopes of a Grand Slam were in serious trouble Friday night at the U.S. Open. Williams struggled with consistency and accuracy in the first set, as she hit 14 unforced errors and three double faults. She ended up losing the set 6-3 to fellow American Bethanie Mattek-Sands. Williams still had her chances with seven break points, but she only managed to convert one. Mattek-Sands, meanwhile, converted on both of her chances. That meant Williams needed to win the final two sets to keep her shot at a Grand Slam alive. Never count out the Williams, though. She limited her unforced errors for the rest of the match and was much ...
