And Shaw immediately showed his worth to the Red Sox by absolutely crushing a two-run homer off Padres starter Jarred Cosart in the second inning. Shaw’s home run was his 16th of the season, and it came at a time when he was struggling, too. Nyquist Reportedly Won’t Compete In Belmont Stakes After Preakness Loss
Nyquist wasn’t able to continue his triple crown run after losing to Exaggerator in last weekend’s Preakness Stakes, and he won’t compete in the sport’s last marquee race of the spring. TMZ has learned that Nyquist isn’t going to race in the Belmont Stakes, which is scheduled for June 6. He has an elevated white blood cell count, his assistant trainer told TMZ.
