NCAA Tournament Results: Duke Shockingly Upset By No. 7 South Carolina
Share this: Duke’s NCAA Tournament run has ended much earlier than anticipated. The Blue Devils were shockingly upset by No. 7 seed South Carolina 88-81 in their second-round East Region matchup. With the win, the Gamecocks move on to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history. Turnovers plagued Duke throughout the contest. The Blue Devils gave the ball away 18 times, which South Carolina took full advantage of. Duke also struggled from 3-point land, shooting a mediocre 37 percent from beyond the arc. Sindarius Thornwell powered the Gamecocks on offense. The SEC Player of the Year posted a game-high 24 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Chris Silva recorded a double-double for South Carolina with 17 points and

Jim Caldwell To Return As Lions Coach In 2017 Regardless Of Their Playoff Fate
Jim Caldwell will have some peace of mind as he leads the Detroit Lions into the NFL playoffs. The Lions announced Wednesday on their website that Caldwell will return as head coach in 2017. Detroit will visit the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday in an NFC Wild Card Game, but the outcome of the contest won’t determining Caldwell’s future with the Lions. His 27-21 record during his three-year tenure has convinced the club he is the right man for the job. The Caldwell news follows Detroit’s late-season slide from the top of the NFC North division. The Lions lost their last three games of the regular season to finish at 9-7 and allow the Green Bay
Bruins Must Stay Tough On Penalty Kill Vs. Sabres Team That Excels On Power Play
Share this: The Buffalo Sabres come to TD Garden with one of the best power-play percentages in the NHL. But Luckily for the Boston Bruins, they happen to be one of the best on the penalty kill themselves. The Sabres boasted a 22.3 power-play percentage — good for sixth in the league — heading into Saturday’s contest, but the Bruins were stopping teams on the man-advantage 86.6 percent of the time, which is good for second in the NHL. And as NESN’s Billy Jaffe said before the game, it’s vital for the Bruins to keep that up to avoid being victimized by Buffalo. Blair’s first desperation heave, a incredible highlight in its own right, was waved off because the referees called a foul before the shot. Waverly appeared to respond with
