Wide receiver Danny Amendola, cornerback Eric Rowe, tight end Martellus Bennett and defensive tackle Malcom Brown all spent their formative years the Houston area, and after the Patriots defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, Houston Chronicle online sports editor Matt Young shared some photos of those players from their high school glory days. Let’s start with Amendola, who apparently weighed about 125 pounds during his time at The Woodlands High School. Next up is Rowe, who looked … well, pretty much the same

Patriots Vs. Steelers Live: Score, Highlights, Analysis Of AFC Championship Game

Share this: 8 a.m. ET: The New England Patriots are one game away from their ninth Super Bowl appearance, and winning won’t come nearly as easy as it did last week. The Patriots take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at 6:40 p.m. in the AFC Championship Game. Because the Patriots earned home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, the conference title game will be played at Gillette Stadium. The Steelers will pose the biggest threat to the Patriots since the Seattle Seahawks came to Foxboro, Mass. in Week 10 and beat New England. The Patriots’ defense has a chance to silence critics by shutting down Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and Pittsburgh’s offense. The Patriots ranked first in the NFL in points allowed this season, but

by Zack Cox on Sat, Jan 14, 2017 at 6:53PM 2,418 Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — Danny Amendola will make his return to the New England Patriots’ lineup in Saturday’s divisional-round playoff game against the Houston Texans. Fellow wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell headlined that list, as he was ruled out with a knee injury. Safety Jordan Richards, quarterback Jacoby Brissett, tackle LaAdrian Waddle, running back D.J. Foster and cornerbacks Cyrus Jones and Justin Coleman also will not play against the Texans. Amendola, who has not played since Week 13, likely will handle punt-return duties for New England. Don’t worry, New England Patriots fans. Troy Brown heard you loud and clear. In fact, it appears Brown, who’s now an analyst for CSNNE, already is working on his game. In all seriousness, the Patriots do need to figure out their punt return situation with Danny Amendola sidelined. Cyrus Jones’ nightmare rookie season only got worse Monday night in the Pa... Chris Hogan Could Have Big Role In 2016 Based On Patriots Roster Cuts

Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots have four wide receivers on their 53-man roster. Only two practiced in full as recently as last week, and just one stayed healthy all offseason: Chris Hogan. It seems the Patriots have big plans for Hogan, who was acquired from the Buffalo Bills for nada as a restricted free agent this offseason, based on their roster cuts. The Patriots released Aaron Dobson, a 2013 second-round pick , Keshawn Martin, whose contract was extended last season, rookie Devin Lucien and former practice-squaders DeAndre Carter and Chris Harper. That the Patriots only are choosing to carry four wideouts suggests a few things: — They primarily will run a two-tight end set after acquiring Martellus Bennett in an offseason
