As it seems, it wasn’t a smoking gun. Or even a slip of the tongue. While the Twitterverse idea MLB commissioner Rob Manfred by chance confessed Wednesday at the ‘‘The Dan Patrick Show’’ that it was once all the time MLB’s purpose to play a 60-game season, Manfred clarified Thursday what he intended. “My level was once that it doesn't matter what came about with the union, the way in which issues opened up with the second one spike,’’ Manfred advised USA TODAY Sports, “we might have ended up with handiest time for 60 video games, anyway. As time went on, it changed into clearer and clearer that the process the virus was once going to dictate what number of

Alex Bregman Denies Staring Down Joe Kelly After Game 1 Hit-By-Pitch
For a brief moment, it appeared as if the Joe Kelly Fight Club would make a comeback Saturday night at Fenway Park. The Boston Red Sox reliever, who famously sparked a brawl with the New York Yankees by drilling Tyler Austin, inflicted similar pain on Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman by hitting him with a 100-mph fastball in the sixth inning in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. Bregman seemed to take immediate exception to the beaning, glaring at the mound in what most assumed was a staredown of Kelly. After the game, though, Bregman offered a different narrative of the tense moment, while

Knicks Owner James Dolan Calls Fan An A–hole, ‘Because He Is An A–hole’
Share this: New York Knicks owner James Dolan has a history of treating fans — and former players — harshly and accusing them of being drunk. So, it’s not surprising that Dolan got into an argument with a season ticket holder Tuesday night outside of Madison Square Garden, and then accused the fan of being intoxicated. Deadspin’s Dave McKenna reported Wednesday that Dolan and Mike Hamersky, a lawyer and self-proclaimed Knicks superfan, got into an altercation that ended with Dolan calling Hamerksy an a–hole. And Dolan responded to the report by admitting it. “I did call him an a–hole,” Dolan said, per McKenna. “Because he is an a–hole.” Hamersky said he told Dolan to sell the team, and Dolan marched toward him and started yelling. “What if
Senators’ Craig Anderson Denies Marchand, Bergeron And Backes In Crazy Sequence
The Boston Bruins were chasing the Ottawa Senators all night in Monday nights 4-2 loss in Ottawa. The Senators led the entire game after they scored two early goals in the first period and Senators goalie Craig Anderson only allowed two goals on 27 shots by the Bruins. Perhaps the three most important saves of the night by Anderson came in the first period when he denied Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and David Backes in the same sequence. All three Bruins had a chance to score on three consecutive shots but Anderson stopped all of them. To see Anderson reject all three shots check out the video above for the DCU Save
