Share this: The Boston Celtics’ roller coaster western road trip ended with a thud Friday night. The C’s followed up their win over Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors with a 119-99 loss to the Denver Nuggets at Pepsi Center. It was as ugly as it sounds/looks. Wilson Chandler (23 points, eight rebounds) led all scorers, while Denver teammates Nikola Jokic (21 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists), Danilo Gallinari (20 points) and Jamaal Murray (13 points) also all reached double figures. Isaiah Thomas paced Boston with 21 points. With the win, the Nuggets improved to 30-35, while the Celtics dropped to 41-25. Here’s how it all went down. 3 Big NBA Stars Who Could Be Traded After DeMarcus Cousins Deal
Share this: The DeMarcus Cousins trade between the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans was a whopper. The Hornets now have two of the best big men in the league in Cousins and Anthony Davis, and the Kings still have no clue how to build a winning roster after getting very little in return for their All-Star center. Will the Cousins trade set off a chain reaction that leads to more major moves? Will contending teams be aggressive and make a trade with an eye towards the NBA Finals? Here are three big stars who could be dealt before Thursday’s trade deadline. Andrew Wiggins Posterizes Nikola Jokic With Sick Dunk In 40-Point Game
Share this: Andrew Wiggins dropped 40 points on the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night, and two of those points felt much bigger than the rest. The Minnesota Timberwolves forward put Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic on a poster with a jaw-dropping dunk. It was one of the best slams of the season so far. Wiggins also made a little team history with his offensive production in Minnesota’s 112-99 win. NBA Rumors: Blazers Land Jusuf Nurkic, Trade Mason Plumlee To Nuggets
Share this: The Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets don’t feel like waiting until the NBA’s Feb. 23 trade deadline. The two teams completed a trade Sunday that involved the Blazers sending center Mason Plumlee and a 2018 second-round pick to Denver in exchange for Nuggets center Jusuf Nurkic and the Memphis Grizzzlies’ 2017 first-round pick, league sources told The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski. It’s the first significant deal of the NBA’s unofficial “trade season” and could have benefits for both clubs. Carmelo Anthony Responds To George Karl’s Personal Attacks With Grace, Class
George Karl hasn’t dragged Carmelo Anthony into the verbal mud, at least not yet. The New York Knicks star responded Thursday to criticisms Karl makes against him in his upcoming book, “Furious George: My Forty Years Surviving NBA Divas, Clueless GMs, and Poor Shot Selection,” sending his former coach his best wishes via ESPN’s Ian Begley. Many expected to Anthony to fire back at Karl, who questioned the nine-time NBA All-Star’s commitment, sense of teamwork and upbringing. Anthony’s reaction contrasts with those of three other former Denver Nuggets players, whom Karl coached. J.R. Smith and Reggie Evans described Karl as “sad... NESN.com
Celtics Wrap: Nuggets Demolish C’s As Boston Suffers Worst Loss Of Season
Share this: The Boston Celtics are just an average NBA team right now. Sure, not having two starters Al Horford and Jae Crowder in the lineup because of injuries hurts, but there’s still no excuse to lose to an inferior Denver Nuggets team by 16 points. Boston fell to Denver 123-107 on Sunday night at TD Garden. It was the Celtics’ worst loss of the season, dropping their record to 3-3. Here’s a recap of Celtics-Nuggets.
