LOUDON, N.H. — Kyle Larson and Ricky Stenhouse are two of the NASCAR Monster Energy Series’ rising stars, but success is nothing new for these two lifelong drivers. And not only is the duo two of the best young drivers in the series, they’re also good friends who come from similar racing backgrounds. NESN Fuel’s Mike Cole caught up with the buddies at New Hampshire Motor Speedway ahead of the Overton’s 301, and they chatted about their dirt track pasts, some of their greatest wins and stops at another New England sports venue — the iconic Fenway Park. F1 Live Stream: Watch Formula One Austrian Grand Prix Online
Share this: Formula One heads to one of the shortest tracks on the calendar this weekend for the 2017 Austrian Grand Prix. Red Bull Racing doesn’t look capable of fighting for a win in its home race at the Red Bull Ring, as both of its drivers will start from the third row of the grid. Valtteri Bottas, however, will try to win from first-place on the grid for the first time after clinching his second career pole Saturday. All eyes will be on the two drivers starting behind Bottas, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton, to see if there still is any bad blood between the two following their much-discussed collision in Azerbaijan. Here’s how to watch the 2017 F1 Austrian Grand Prix online: When:
Fantasy NASCAR Picks: Who We’re Buying, Selling For Quaker State 400
Share this: Like it or not, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is headed back to a 1 1/2-mile oval, as drivers are set to compete in Saturday’s Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway. There only have been six Cup races held at the track, which isn’t a big sample size to go on for stetting fantasy lineups. Still, some drivers clearly have excelled at Kentucky, and there’s plenty of recent history at 1 1/2-mile ovals for fantasy owners to take into account. Whether you need help picking an A-List driver who has a shot at winning or an up-and-coming C-List racer who could help steal you some points, we’ve got you covered. Here are the drivers you should give seats to, and
South African Journalist Breaks Record With 102-Mile Continuous Drift
Share this: Most people would throw their cars in cruise control on a 100-plus-mile drive so they could relax. Journalist Jesse Adams didn’t have that luxury, however, during his recent stunt at Gerotek Test Facilities in South Africa. Adams broke the record this week for the longest continuous drift by keeping a Toyota GT86 — sold in the United States as the 86 — sideways for 102 1/2 miles, according to 4WheelsNews. His run broke the previous record of 90 miles that was set by Harald Muller, who also used a GT86 for his attempt. For anybody who isn’t familiar with drifting, it’s when you make the back end come lose on a rear-wheel-drive car, and hold it on the edge of a spin.
Scott Speed: Red Bull GRC’s ‘Unbelievable’ Access Makes Sport Enjoyable
Share this: THOMPSON, CONN. — Scott Speed has competed in some of the top motorsport series in the world, from Formula One to NASCAR, but he’s found a home in Red Bull Global Rallycross, thanks to the sport’s fan-friendly atmosphere. Much like NASCAR, though arguably more so, Red Bull GRC lets you get up close to your favorite cars and drivers. That “unbelievable” access is something Speed says makes the up-and-coming series so appealing, and not just to race fans. If you’ve ever watched some of Kyle Busch’s post-race press conferences, you know racing drivers don’t always like being in the spotlight. However, Speed says the open nature of the paddock is what makes GRC so enjoyable for the drivers. NESN Fuel’s Pat McAssey
Indy 500 Fast Lap: Commentator Breaks Down Brickyard On iRacing
Share this: Throughout the 2017 racing season, NESN Fuel will partner with iRacing, the world’s premier online racing simulation service, to bring you in-depth walk-throughs of some of the well-known speedways and courses on the calendar. This week, Joe Peak, lead commentator for the Global Sim Racing Channel, shows you the ins and outs of a lap at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Despite looking similar to most racing ovals from above, Indianapolis Motor Speedway is anything but your typical race track. With each turn offering uniquely different challenges, IMS serves as a proving ground for drivers on any circuit — particularly those who like to crossover. All bets are off when the green flag waves at the famous 2 1/2-mile oval, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways for
NASCAR Fans Get ‘Rowdy,’ Rip Kyle Busch For Driving In Truck Series
NASCAR’s National series are intended to help young, up-and-coming drivers develop their skills with hopes of one day making the jump to the highest level. It might be hard these drivers to have success, though, if one of the top racers on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is always coming down to hog victory lane. We’re talking, of course, about Kyle Busch. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has no wins on the Cup level this season, but has taken a checkered flag in the both Xfinity Series and, after his performance at Kansas Speedway on Friday, the Camping World Truck Series. But Busch’s victory in the Toyota Tundra 250 didn’t exactly sit
