UFC 208 Results: Germaine de Randamie Becomes First Women’s Featherweight Champi…

Share this: History will be made Saturday night at UFC 208 in Brooklyn. The first ever women’s featherweight champion will be crowned in a bout between Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie. Holm took the UFC world by storm with her knockout victory over Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 in November 2015. She has struggled since then, though, with two consecutive losses to Miesha Tate and Valentina Shevchenko, respectively. But that won’t be the only fight at the Barclays Center on Saturday night. Anderson “The Spider” Silva will take on Derek Brunson in a middleweight contest. Once considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the business, Silva has not registered a win in UFC since October 2012. The main card will kick off at 10 p.m.

Dana White Believes Ronda Rousey’s UFC Career Is ‘Probably Done’

Share this: Ronda Rousey hasn’t been seen much in public since losing to Amanda Nunes in UFC 207, and we might have seen the last of her in the octagon, too. The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion was at one point the most dominant person in MMA, cruising to a 12-0 record while beating all of her opponents in just minutes, or even seconds. But after taking two straight losses to Holly Holm in UFC 193 and Nunes in UFC 207, her return is up in the air. And UFC president Dana White said on UFC.com’s “UFC Unfiltered” podcast that he doesn’t think it’s going to happen. “In the conversation I had with her, if I had to say right here right now — again

Dana White Changes Stance On Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather Fight

Share this: LAS VEGAS — A few days after telling TMZ that a Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather will “never happen,” UFC president Dana White appears to have slightly changed his belief on whether the dream mega-fight will ever take place. White was asked about the possibility of the fight between the two loud-mouthed champions at his UFC 207 pre-fight scrum Wednesday afternoon at T-Mobile Arena, and he didn’t rule it out. “Listen, I stopped saying never,” White said.” Who knows? But it’s highly unlikely, you know what I mean? I say it all the time. Look how long it took for (Manny) Pacquiao and Mayweather to happen and those guys are in the same sport.” So why the change of heart for White? It appears

UFC Fight Night Albany Results: Derrick Lewis Earns TKO Win Vs. Shamil Abdurakhi…

Share this: Friday’s UFC Fight Night Albany main event between heavyweight contenders Derrick Lewis and Shamil Abdurakhimov wasn’t pretty, but Lewis did get the finish at Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y., stopping his foe in the fourth round. “That was one of my most terrible fights,” Lewis said. “I didn’t like my performance at all. I know it was a five-round fight, I just tried to pace myself, but that was some bulls—. I expected a better performance.” A win’s a win though, and for Houston’s Lewis, it was his fifth in a row. An early Round 1 kick by Lewis allowed Abdurakhimov to get the bout to the mat, and after escaping from a kimura attempt, Lewis got to his feet. Abdurakhimov
