The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the best teams in Major League Baseball, but they won’t have any starters on the field for the 2017 All-Star Game. And Kenley Jansen has something to say to Dodgers fans about that. The Los Angeles closer will be at the All-Star Game in Miami on July 11, along with starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw, shortstop Corey Seager and outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger. Third baseman Justin Turner and starter Alex Wood also could make the team as injury replacements, but Jansen is pretty ticked off that none of them will be starting. “I’ll say it loud and clear again: It’s the Dodger fans’ fault,” Jansen said, p... Red Sox Wrap: Boston Crushes Twins 9-2 In Rainy Night At Fenway Park
Share this: If the Minnesota Twins could have forfeited Tuesday night’s game at Fenway Park early, they might have opted to fight another day. Due to two rain delays, the Twins got into their bullpen in the third inning, and the Boston Red Sox routed them 9-2 in a game that saw Boston take over first place in the American League East. Drew Pomeranz was able to survive the 90-minute delay following the second inning and turned in a strong five-inning start to give the Red Sox’s bullpen a bit of a reprieve. Boston’s offense, meanwhile, crushed the Twins’ pitching staff, tallying nine runs on 10 hits, including home runs by Christian Vazquez and Chris Young. The Red Sox improved to 43-34 with the win,

Red Sox Notes: John Farrell Describes What Happened On Balk, Ejection
Share this: The Boston Red Sox lost 6-3 to the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, and manager John Farrell had to watch the end of the game from the clubhouse after a heated argument led to his ejection. The incident in question happened in the top of the seventh inning after reliever Fernando Abad had replaced starter David Price, who had a solid outing at Fenway Park. Abad was called for a balk, which allowed Kole Calhoun to score and make it 5-1 Angels at the time. However, Farrell protested the call, and he eventually was ejected. Things got heated between John Farrell and crew chief Bill Miller after a balk call tacked on another Angels run. Farrell got the boot. pic.twitter.com/4uY74Ju6fh — Julian Benbow
John Farrell Praises Sam Travis, Deven Marrero For Rising To Occassion
Share this: Sam Travis and Deven Marrero didn’t have much time to prepare for the Boston Red Sox’s game against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday. Both youngsters were immediately placed in the starting lineup after being called up from Triple-A Pawtucket, and they made their starts count. Travis and Marrero combined to go 3-for-7 with two RBIs and three runs scored in Boston’s 8-3 victory. After the game, Red Sox manager John Farrell praised the rookies for providing the team with a lift, especially considering the unusual circumstances. Red Sox Notes: Hector Velazquez Continues To Show Potential For Boston
Share this: It didn’t appear that Hector Velazquez was ready for the big leagues after his first career start against the Oakland Athletics on May 18, but the right-hander is doing his best to change that opinion. Velazquez was called up in case of emergency Wednesday and was thrust into action against the Philadelphia Phillies when Brian Johnson was forced to leave the game with an injury. He tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his first career win, and another opportunity to start. That opportunity came Monday night against the Kansas City Royals, and he made the most of it. With the Boston Red Sox’s bullpen needing a breather, Velazquez threw 5 1/3 quality innings. The righty surrendered two runs on five hits
John Farrell Marvels At Chris Sale’s All-Around Game In Loss To Phillies
Share this: Chris Sale did just about everything he could to help the Boston Red Sox grab a victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night. Sale hurled eight innings, only allowing one run on four hits with 10 strikeouts. He even blasted a double in his first game hitting in the 2017 season. But unfortunately for Sale, his efforts weren’t enough, as the Phillies narrowly topped the Sox 1-0. After the game, Red Sox manager John Farrell gushed over Sale’s all-around performance, both on the hill and at the plate.
