Red Sox Notes: Boston’s Bullpen Comes Up Big For Second Straight Night

Share this: With the Boston Red Sox playing three straight four-hour games and back-to-back extra-inning affairs, the team needed help from its bullpen toward the end of the current homestand. And the bullpen delivered. The Sox’s relievers combined to pitch 11 scoreless innings in Boston’s two wins over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday and Tuesday, including six frames in Tuesday’s 4-3 12-inning victory at Fenway Park. Boston left-handed starter David Price went the first six innings and allowed three earned runs before turning it over to the bullpen. Robby Scott, Blaine Boyer, Craig Kimbrel, Heath Hembree and Fernando Abad (2-0) then took it from there. There certainly were some close calls for the bullpen, including a deep drive from Maikel Franco that just barely missed

Xbox Unveils Porsche 911 GT2 RS, ‘Forza Motorsport 7’ During E3 2017

The fight to develop the best 4K sim racing game is officially in full swing. Xbox unveiled the 4K trailer for “Forza Motorsport 7” Sunday during its presentation at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017. It also pulled the tarp off the highly anticipated Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Partnering with an automaker for E3 is nothing new for developer Turn 10 Studios. It revealed the Ford GT alongside “Forza Motorsport 6,” and the McLaren P1 with “Forza Motorsport 6.” It’s surprising that Turn 10 kept such a tight lid on “Forza 7,” as the game is slated for a fall release, and it’s main rivals have been heavily promoting their upcoming insta... Red Sox Notes: Josh Rutledge’s Glove Might Make Him A Regular In Boston’s Lineup

Share this: On a night when he got the start because of his defense, Josh Rutledge made the most of his time at the plate. The Boston Red Sox third baseman got the start Saturday night against the Detroit Tigers because he is reliable with the glove, and Pablo Sandoval has struggled with routine plays this season. With Chris Sale on the mound for Boston, it seemed prudent for manager John Farrell to start Rutledge after Sandoval struggled in the field behind lefty Brian Johnson on Friday night. But while Rutledge did his job in the field during the Red Sox’s 11-3 win at Fenway Park on Saturday, he made his presence known with his bat more than his glove. The 28-year-old infielder reached base

Steve Kerr, Tyronn Lue Both Were Confused By Draymond Green’s Technical Foul

Share this: If you had no idea what was going on when Draymond Green was and then wasn’t ejected from Game 4 of the NBA Finals, you weren’t the only one. Pretty much everyone at Quicken Loans Arena believed the Golden State Warriors forward receieved his second technical foul in the third quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 137-116 win, but officials explained the first tech of the game was assessed to Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and not Green. But Green was listed as the recipient of the first-quarter technical on the official scoresheet, leading Cavs coach Tyronn Lue to question the officials during the game. The Cavs weren’t the only ones confused by the non-ejection, though. Even Kerr himself thought the first

Could Zaza Pachulia Be Suspended For Iman Shumpert Groin Shot In Game 4?

Share this: For the second straight NBA Finals, there’s controversy over a member of the Golden State Warriors punching a Cleveland Cavaliers player below the belt in Game 4. One year after Warriors forward Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5 of the 2015-16 NBA Finals for punching LeBron James in the groin, center Zaza Pachulia is in a similar situation after taking a cheap shot at Cavs guard Iman Shumpert. The two got into it late in the third quarter after Shumpert continued to grab at the basketball in Pachulia’s hands that already was called a jump ball. Pachulia’s punch was blatant, but it’s unlikely he’ll receive any significant punishment for it. For starters, both he and Shumpert received technical fouls on

Red Sox Notes: David Price Says Media Comments Didn’t Impact Outing Vs. Yankees

Share this: All eyes were on David Price when he took the mound Thursday night to face the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The Boston Red Sox starter made headlines Wednesday, lashing out at the local media and announcing he’d only speak on days he pitched. And in Price’s first outing since his comments, he didn’t pitch very well. The left-hander struggled through five innings, allowing six runs on eight hits with four walks in Boston’s 9-1 loss to the Yankees. Price didn’t have his best stuff by any means Thursday night, but he insists Wednesday’s incident had nothing to do with it. “Absolutely not,” Price said when asked if there was a lingering impact, as seen on NESN’s Red Sox postgame coverage. “It was
