Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals wasn’t pretty for the Boston Celtics. The Celtics entered the game riding high after advancing past the Washington Wizards and earning the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, but that enthusiasm did little to stop the Cavaliers in Cleveland’s 117-104 win at TD Garden. There were plenty of examples of the Cavs overpowering the Celtics throughout the game, but none can top what LeBron James did to Isaiah Thomas on this play. Ouch. Maybe Thomas and the C’s will have more luck Friday night in Game 2. Thumbnail photo via Bob DeChiara/USA TODAY Sports Images

NBA Rumors: ‘Loaded’ Celtics Have Agents Weary About Clients’ Playing Time As Ro…
Share this: Every first-round pick in the NBA Draft wants to play right away. Players selected in the lottery expect to play right away. Playing time usually come quickly to these lottery picks because they are on teams without a lot of depth and/or talent. The Boston Celtics are the rare championship contender in the lottery thanks to a fantastic trade with the Brooklyn Nets in 2013. The C’s have the best chance (25 percent) of winning Tuesday night’s lottery because of their pick swap with the last-place Nets. Playing time won’t be easy to come by on the C’s roster next season, and according to ESPN’s Chad Ford, that has agents of top prospects in the 2017 draft class a little concerned. Ford reported Sunday
NBC Sports Chairman Explains Potential Commercial Changes In NFL Games
Share this: Football fans love tuning in every Sunday to watch their favorite NFL team play, but nobody likes breaks in the action. This happens quite a bit during an NFL broadcast, though, as there seemingly is a commercial break after every play. NBC Sports chairman Mark Lazarus is aware of this problem, and is looking into making the viewing experience more enjoyable for fans. In a recent interview with Variety magazine, Lazarus outlined a few potential resolutions. “We are working on formatting that reduces the number of breaks, but maybe are a little bit longer, maybe 30 seconds longer,” Lazerus said. “We may take out some of the breaks. I think that will enhance the viewing experience. When you have a play, take a break,
Celtics Wrap: Wizards Even Series With Convincing 121-102 Game 4 Win
Share this: The home team might not lose a game in the second-round NBA playoff series between the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards. After the C’s opened the series with a pair of home wins, the Wizards held serve on homecourt with two victories, including a dominant 119-100 win in Game 4 on Sunday night to even the series. John Wall once again ran the show for the Wizards with brilliant all-around play, but it was his backcourt sidekick Bradley Beal who led all players with 29 points. These teams traded runs in a pretty even first half, but Washington broke the game open with a 26-0 third-quarter burst that Boston never recovered from. Here’s how it all went down. Markieff Morris Rips Wizards’ Effort After Game 2 Loss To Celtics
Share this: The Washington Wizards squandered a golden opportunity to even their second-round NBA playoff series against the Boston Celtics. The Wizards held a lead as large as 14 points in Game 2 at TD Garden on Tuesday night, and even went up six with three minutes remaining in regulation. But, the Celtics would come roaring back and picked up the 129-119 victory in overtime. Wizards forward Markieff Morris believes his team was doomed by lack of toughness as opposed to poor execution. “We’re not playing tough enough,” Morris told reporters, as transcribed by USA Today. “We had the advantage late in the game and all we had to do was just play tough. We didn’t have to make shots. We didn’t have to
Stray Bullet Injures Fan At Busch Stadium During Cardinals Game Vs. Brewers
One baseball fan didn’t leave her last game at Busch Stadium unscathed. A fan suffered a minor injury Tuesday at Busch Stadium during the St. Louis Cardinals’ win over the Milwaukee Brewers. The woman received medical attention at Busch Stadium, was interviewed by police and went home. Police say the bullet was fired from outside Busch Stadium and grazed the arm of a woman, who was seated near the first base line, according to The St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Christine Byers. Police sources told Byers they received a call about gunshots at an intersection less than a mile from the stadium and believe the bullet might have come from that incidient. ... NESN.com
