Kobe Bryant’s NBA career will come to an end Wednesday night, but not before one last tribute from the team and city he’s called home for the past 20 years. The surefire Basketball Hall of Famer stepped onto the Staples Center floor for the final time as a player Wednesday, and the Lakers honored him with a touching tribute prior to their season finale against the Utah Jazz. The ceremony included a video of some of the top moments in the five-time NBA champion’s storied career. Then, NBA greats — and fans — like Magic Johnson wished the Black Mamba a fond farewell. Johnson also added a few m...

David Krejci’s Monster Game Helps Bruins Keep Pace In Playoff Race
by Zack Cox on Fri, Apr 1, 2016 at 11:36PM 1,923 The Boston Bruins’ offense broke out in a big way Friday night, beating the St. Louis Blues’ vaunted goaltending duo a half-dozen times to secure a win they desperately needed. Leading this charge was center David Krejci, who scored two of Boston’s goals and assisted on two others in the first regular-season four-point effort of his career. “He was extremely good — no doubt,” head coach Claude Julien told NESN’s Jack Edwards a...
Super Bowl 50: Simulator Predicts Panthers Defeat Broncos In Tight Game
It’ll be a battle of the defenses when the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos take the field for Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, at least according to one simulator. WhatIfSports.com used its NFL simulation engines to make a Super Bowl 50 prediction, and after running it 501 times it seems Peyton Manning’s nightmares will be littered with Carolina Blue. The Panthers won Super Bowl 50 in 59.6 percent of the simulations by an average score of 20-16. Manning typically outgained Cam Newton in their air, 208 passing yards to 193, and each averaged roughly one touchdown and one interception. Jonathan Stewart was the most likely to score a rushing touchd...

Tom Brady, Gisele Catch Son Ben’s Hockey Game Over Broncos-Steelers (Photo)
Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, blah, blah, blah. Who cares? New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t very concerned Sunday with the outcome of the second AFC Divisional Playoff clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos. Instead, he took some time to get away from football and go enjoy his son Ben’s hockey game with wife Gisele Bundchen. The photographer who took the photo for TMZ Sports said it was taken at approximately 7:15 p.m. — aka right when the Broncos-Steelers game was wrapping up. It’s alright, Tom. You didn’t really miss much, anyway. Manning and the Broncos won a snoozer 23-16. Thumbna...
Lane Kiffin Misses Team Bus After Alabama Beats Clemson In Title Game
Lane Kiffin had to call an audible shortly after Alabama defeated Clemson in Monday night’s College Football Playoff National Championship. The Alabama offensive coordinator was talking to reporters while walking out of University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., when he noticed the team buses pulling away, according to reports. Kiffin tried to whistle to a security guard to stop the final bus, according to FOXSports.com, but his attempt was unsuccessful. Fortunately for Kiffin, help arrived in the form of Alabama head coach Nick Saban. A vehicle was waiting for Saban, who usually misses the team bus after games, so Kiffin was able to catch a ...
O.J. Mayo Gets Ejected, Goes After Official During Bucks-Timberwolves Game (Video)
O.J. Mayo didn’t see the end of Saturday’s Milwaukee Bucks-Minnesota Timberwolves game, and he might not see the floor again for a while following his post-ejection actions. The Bucks guard received a technical foul after he lobbied a bit too hard for a foul call on Karl-Anthony Towns. He didn’t stop arguing with an official, which led to him getting ejected from the game. Instead of heading back to the locker room, though, Mayo had to be restrained when he tried to go after the official. This is not a good look for the NBA veteran, and more penalties probably are on their way. Thumbnail photo via Kirby Lee/USA TODAY Sports Image...
