Red Sox Notes: Boston Makes Statement With Series Win Over Astros

Share this: The Boston Red Sox have had an up-and-down season thus far, but a successful weekend trip to Houston has the Sox riding high. Boston took two of three games from the Major League Baseball-best Astros, capped off by a gritty 6-5 win Sunday night at Minute Maid Park. The Father’s Day victory, especially, showed signs of what the Red Sox are capable of. They received a mediocre performance out of starter David Price, and the bullpen wasn’t as strong as it has been of late. Even Craig Kimbrel veered from his dominant self with a shaky ninth inning. But thanks to timely hitting and strong defense, Boston overcame its faults to earn one of its most impressive victories of the 2017 season. And

LeBron James Is First Player To Average Triple-Double In NBA Finals History

Share this: LeBron James did everything humanly possible to help the Cleveland Cavaliers defend their NBA title, including becoming the first player ever to average a triple-double in NBA Finals history. But it wasn’t enough, as the Golden State Warriors earned their second championship in three seasons Monday night with a Game 5 win over the Cavs at Oracle Arena. James scored a game-high 41 points with 13 rebounds, eight assists and two steals in the 2017 NBA Finals-clincher. The Cavs superstar finished the series with averages of 33.6 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists over five games. He scored an average of 37 points over the final three games of the Finals. James’ 27 Finals losses are the third-most all-time, and his five

Red Sox Wrap: Boston Obliterates Tigers’ Bullpen In 11-3 Win At Fenway Park

Share this: For the second night in a row, the Boston Red Sox tortured the Detroit Tigers’ bullpen. The two teams were tied in the bottom of the seventh Saturday night when Mitch Moreland laced a two-run double over Justin Upton’s head to give Boston the lead. But that was just the beginning of Detroit’s nightmare. All in all, the Red Sox scored eight runs in the final two innings against the Tigers’ bullpen en route to an 11-3 victory at Fenway Park. Moreland (three RBIs) and the Red Sox’s offense backed ace Chris Sale, who tossed seven solid innings and earned the victory against Justin Verlander and the Tigers. The Red Sox improved to 34-27, while the Tigers fell to 29-32. Here’s how it all

‘Pokemon’ Debut On Nintendo Switch Isn’t What Most Fans Were Hoping For

Share this: Unfortunately for “Pokemon fans,” good news and bad news were one in the same Tuesday. During its “Pokemon Direct” live stream, Nintendo revealed the ever-popular “Pokemon” series will make its Nintendo Switch debut in the form of “Pokken Tournament DX,” an updated version of the fighting game released for Wii U in 2015. The announcement comes as a disappointment to fans who were hoping for a more traditional, mainline role-playing game entry, which would mark the first time such a “Pokemon” game appeared on a home gaming console. Additionally, Nintendo revealed “Pokemon Ultra Sun” and “Pokemon Ultra Moon,” updated versions of last year’s mainline 3DS entries. Watch Tuesday’s “Pokemon Direct” in its entirety in the video below. [embedded content] While “Pokken Tournament DX” seems

LeBron James Loses Patience With Reporter After Foolish Question On NBA Finals

Share this: LeBron James was in no mood for mindless questions Sunday night. After the Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a second straight loss to the Golden State Warriors to open the NBA Finals, James was asked to envision a scenario in which Cleveland didn’t protect home court. This, of course, would mean a Warriors series sweep, which James reminded the reporter in belittling fashion. And judging by how the first two games of the series have panned out, a Golden State series win in four games looks like a distinct possibility. Braxton Miller ‘Bugging’ Ex-Patriot Wes Welker For Tips In Texans Practice

by Zack Cox on Thu, Jun 1, 2017 at 1:28PM 1,488 Share this: As a former college quarterback, Houston Texans slot receiver Braxton Miller still is learning the nuances of his new position. Luckily for him, he has one of the best in the business showing him the ropes. Miller, who’s entering his second NFL season, has been hounding new Texans offensive/special teams assistant Wes Welker for pointers during organized team activities. “I’m always in his ear, bugging him, as you can see after practice,” Miller told reporters Wednesday, via the Texans’ official website. “I was just asking him all types of questions. What did he see? What did I do wrong today? After every play, he’s always correcting what I did wrong. Then I just
