Chiefs Sign RB C.J. Spiller, Possibly Moving On From Jamaal Charles

Share this: The NFL free agency period has not yet begun, but the Kansas City Chiefs have already made a splash. The team announced the signing of veteran running back C.J. Spiller on Friday. The 29-year-old back had brief stints with the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets last season, playing in a total of six games between the two teams. While Spiller is not a marquee signing by any means, the move raised question marks regarding the Chiefs roster. Kansas City already has a plethora of backs, including skilled runners in Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West. With strong depth in the backfield, it is believed that the odd man out could be Jamaal Charles. When healthy, Charles has been one of the premier

Isaiah Thomas ‘Confident’ He Can Pass Russell Westbrook As NBA’s Top Scorer

The Boston Celtics have had a remarkable season thus far, and that is in large part due to Isaiah Thomas. The All-Star guard is averaging an incredible 29.9 points per game this season, good for the second-highest mark in the NBA. Thomas only trails Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook, who’s averaging 30.9 points per game and has held the top spot for the majority of the season. However, with 26 games remaining in the Celtics’ season, Thomas believes he can overtake Westbrook on the scoring leaderboard, as he told Bill Doyle of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette following the Celtics’ 116-108 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on ... Beanpot 2017 Notes: Harvard Breaks ‘Curse,’ Earns Historic Win Over BU

Share this: BOSTON — It wasn’t exactly an 86-year championship curse like the Red Sox finally broke in the 2004 World Series, but Harvard had a pretty big drought of its own. However, the No. 3 Crimson broke their Beanpot “curse,” which existed since 1993, on Monday with a 6-3 victory over No. 4 Boston University at TD Garden. Oh, and how sweet it was for Harvard. “This is a group that has really kind of tackled making sure that our culture was right and has great leadership,” Harvard coach Ted Donato said. “And I think this was something that they really wanted. They wanted to leave this kind of legacy that they were the group that was gonna break the curse, so to speak. “I’m really

Bucks’ Jabari Parker Suffers Second ACL Tear, Likely Out 12 Months

Share this: Jabari Parker just can’t catch a break. The Milwaukee Bucks forward suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during Wednesday’s game against the Miami Heat, the team announced Thursday. He will miss the remainder of the 2016-17 season, and his recovery is expected to take 12 months. Parker’s injury initially was described as a left knee sprain after he landed awkwardly while driving to the basket. It’s the second serious knee injury in just over two years for Parker, who tore the same ACL just 25 games into his rookie season in 2014. The Bucks selected Parker No. 2 overall out of Duke in the 2014 NBA Draft, and he averaged 12.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game during his rookie campaign before
