Share this: First, a disclaimer: Isaiah Thomas isn’t the same basketball player as Michael Jordan or Larry Bird — nowhere close, in fact. But that didn’t stop Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey from mentioning the Boston Celtics point guard in the same breath as the two NBA legends. “He’s a great player,” Casey told reporters Wednesday, via MassLive.com. “I’m sure if you remember Larry Bird, they went to him a lot in the fourth quarter. Michael Jordan, they went to him a lot in the fourth quarter and back in the day a lot of those great players — Dirk Nowitzki — didn’t get started until later in the game and had to get revved up. And when it’s money time, those players

Bruins Wrap: Brad Marchand’s Goals Not Enough As Capitals Snap B’s Win Streak
Share this: The Boston Bruins were not able to win their fourth straight game Wednesday night in Washington. The B’s had their win streak snapped in a 5-3 loss to the Capitals, who’ve now won eight consecutive games against Boston and seven of the last eight meetings at the Verizon Center. Brad Marchand was the best player on the ice for the Bruins. He scored two more goals to increase his team-leading total to 23. The loss drops the Bruins to 26-22-6, while the Caps improve to 34-11-6. Here’s how it all went down. CAPITALS STIKE FIRSTThe Capitals opened the scoring at 3:06 of the first period when Nicklas Backstrom made a slick pass through the neutral zone to spring T.J. Oshie for a breakaway. Oshie
Liverpool Vs. Chelsea Preview: Premier League Rivals’ Clash Could Alter Title Ra…
Share this: The Premier League landscape has changed dramatically since Liverpool and Chelsea last met. Liverpool defeated Chelsea 2-1 on Sept. 16, with the result fuelling the Reds’ early season hopes for success and sending the Blues toward their low point. But Chelsea twisted the plot with a surge to the top of the standings in the ensuing months, leaving Liverpool and other rivals in its wake. The Reds now are hoping to close its distance behind Chelsea, and the teams will face off Tuesday at Anfield. The game will represent a significant marker in the 2016-17 campaign. We’ll cover the Reds-Blues clash in full, so let’s preview it. The stakesLiverpool can’t afford to lose. It’s that simple. A Chelsea victory would open up a 13-point
Watch Oregon’s Dillon Brooks Make Serious Case For Worst Flop Of All Time
Share this: Dillon Brooks apparently has been studying his flopping game tape. The Oregon forward scored a team-high 19 points Thursday night to lead the No. 10 Ducks to a 73-67 win over Utah. But Brooks’ offensive exploits were overshadowed by his flop on the defensive end that would make Marcus Smart blush. Not only did Brooks appear to be blown back by a mysterious force of nature — the Utah player barely touched him — but he kept the flop going, hopping on one foot before throwing his body onto the floor. The internet seemed to enjoy Brooks’ theatrics, though. Oregon now has won a school-record 17 consecutive games, though, so maybe Brooks should flop more often. Actually, never mind. Please don’t flop like this
Kings Expertly Troll Cavaliers On Twitter Following Overtime Victory
Share this: It’s been a rough stretch for the Cleveland Cavaliers of late. The Cavs had lost five of their last seven games coming into Wednesday night’s tilt with the Sacramento Kings. The mid-January slump caused star forward LeBron James to call out his front office following the Cavs’ Monday night loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Things got worse Wednesday night as Kings guard Arron Afflalo hit a 3-pointer with 17.3 seconds left in overtime to send Cleveland to its sixth loss in eight tries. After the game, the Kings’ official Twitter account threw some expert level shade at the defending NBA champions. This might be the best thing the Kings do all season. Bruins Wrap: David Pastrnak’s Overtime Goal Seals Win Over Red Wings
Share this: The Boston Bruins ended a four-game skid by beating the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 in overtime Tuesday night at TD Garden. It was a much-needed victory for the Bruins, who entered the day out of a playoff spot after losing eight of their last 11 games. The B’s improve to 24-21-6 with the win, while the Red Wings fall to 20-19-9. Here’s how it all went down. FIRST STRIKEThe Bruins opened the scoring when defenseman Kevan Miller beat Red Wings goalie Jared Coreau with a snapshot from inside the right faceoff circle. It was Miller’s first goal of the season. He returned to the lineup Tuesday after a four-game absence with a concussion. Boston didn’t let up after scoring first. The B’s tallied the first
AFC Title Game Was Patriots’ Second-Highest Rated Non-Super Bowl Game
The New England Patriots dismantled the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, and a lot of New Englanders tuned in to watch Tom Brady and Co. clinch their NFL-record ninth Super Bowl appearance. The local TV ratings for Sunday’s tilt against the Steelers were released on Monday, and the 2017 AFC title game was one of the most viewed non-Super Bowl games in team history. The Patriots’ 41-27 victory over the Steelers in the 2005 AFC Championship Game is the only non-Super Bowl game to receive a higher rating. The other three games in the top five were also AFC playoff games. The Patriots will face the
