Patriots Defense: Exactly How Poor Is It, And How Can It Be Fixed?

Share this: The New England Patriots traded away one of their most talented defenders in hopes it would fix their ailing defense. One game down, and the Patriots’ defense looks worse than ever. The Patriots’ loss in their first game of the post-Jamie Collins era brings to mind a scene from the Thanksgiving classic “Planes, Trains and Automobiles”. Del Griffith, played by John Candy, totals a car he rented, and Neil Page, played by Steve Martin, bursts out laughing, saying, “You finally did it to yourself!” One would imagine that’s how opposing coaches are looking at Belichick. Of course, Griffith actually used Page’s credit card to rent the car. So, there’s a good chance Belichick gets the last laugh, regardless. But how will he turn around his defense?

Patriots Vs. Seahawks Notes: LeGarrette Blount Closing In On Curtis Martin’s Rec…

by Zack Cox on Mon, Nov 14, 2016 at 2:47AM 2,071 Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — No New England Patriots player has rushed for more touchdowns in a season that Curtis Martin, who found the end zone 14 times in 1995 and again in 1996. If LeGarrette Blount keeps up his current pace, that record won’t stand for long. Blount bulldozed his way across the goal line three more times in Sunday night’s 31-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, bringing his season touchdown total to 12 with seven games left to play. Barring injury or a precipitous drop-off in production, he easily should surpass Martin’s mark, perhaps as early as next Sunday in San Francisco. How did a running back who’d never scored more than seven touchdowns

Lakers Destroy Warriors In 117-97 Win, End Stephen Curry’s 3-Point Streak

It’s safe to say Luke Walton’s first meeting against his former went pretty well. The Los Angeles Lakers coach, who used to be the assistant coach for Golden State, led his team to a 117-97 blowout win over the Warriors on Friday at Staples Center. The Lakers improved to 3-3, while the Dubs dropped to 4-2. Warriors star Stephen Curry also ended his streak of 196 games with at least one 3-pointer, as he went 0-for-10 from long range. “That was a cool little ride,” Curry said, per USA TODAY. “Would have loved to finish my career making one every game, but hey, start a new one. What was it, like two years?
