Sidney Crosby Makes Jeremy Roenick Eat Words With Game-Winning Goal

Sidney Crosby has amazing talent, but that didn’t stop former NHL player and current NBC Sports hockey analyst Jeremy Roenick from criticizing the Pittsburgh Penguins star during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference final. And it didn’t take very long for these choice words to come back and bite Roenick. Roenick picked a rather unfortunate night to rip Crosby for his effort, as the center evened the series with the Tampa Bay Lightning at one game apiece with his game-winning goal 40 seconds into overtime in the Penguins’ 3-2 win. That certainly looked like plenty of effort on that play. Thumbnail photo via Charles LeClaire/USA ...

Coutinho on stunning Liverpool goal at United

Jürgen Klopp, his delighted manager, described it as a "genius moment" but just what was going through the head of Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho as he bore down on David de Gea's goal last night? The Brazilian's brilliant goal shifted the balance of an exciting round of 16 second-leg tie irrevocably away from Manchester United. It also stunned into silence a hitherto raucous Old Trafford. And it was the moment that De Gea, who made four terrific saves to foil Liverpool's No10 over these two legs, was finally left with no answer as Coutinho, approaching from the left, dinked the ball cheekily between the United keeper and his near post."I had the chance to be face to fa...

Brad Marchand Continues Hot Streak With Fastest Goal In Bruins History (Video)

Blink at your own risk during this Boston Bruins-Detroit Red Wings matchup. The two teams combined for three goals in the opening three minutes and five in the first period Sunday afternoon. And Brad Marchand got it all started just eight seconds in. Marchand scored his 28th goal of the season after Brett Connolly won an offensive-zone faceoff and passed the puck back to the Bruins winger, whose wrist shot beat Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek. It was his seventh straight game with a goal and his 13th tally in his last 13 contests. Oh, and it also was the fastest goal to start a game in team history. Not a bad start. Not bad at
