Red Sox Vs. Angels Lineup: Ryan Hanigan, Aaron Hill Return Vs. Tim Lincecum

Share this: The Boston Red Sox haven’t been more desperate for a win this season than they are Friday night. Boston blew a lead in the bottom of the ninth inning early Friday morning east coast time, handing a 2-1 victory to the Los Angeles Angels to kick off their 11-game road trip and wasting a brilliant eight-inning shutout from David Price in the process. It was the team’s fourth loss in a row — marking the first time they’ve done that this season — and sixth loss in their last seven games. Ryan Hanigan Catching For Steven Wright In Red Sox-Twins Series Opener

BOSTON — The Red Sox are coming off a two-game sweep of the San Francisco Giants, and now it’s Steven Wright’s turn to keep up Boston’s winning ways. The knuckleballer will be on the mound Thursday for the first contest of the Red Sox’s four-game series against the Minnesota Twins. Wright has had a little bit of trouble in July so far, putting up a 6.35 ERA in three starts, but he still earned the win in each of those games. His 2.78 ERA also is second in the American League behind the Cleveland Indians’ Danny Salazar. Ryan Hanigan will catch for Wright to give Sandy Leon a day off, as the two backstops have been following a two games on, two games

Both players left Saturday’s game with injuries in a span of under an inning, with Hanigan exiting after the sixth and Swihart leaving in the top of the seventh. Swihart’s ankle, which he injured crashing into the side wall in left field, will be examined Sunday by the Red Sox’s foot specialist, Dr. George Theodore, while Hanigan un...

Ryan Hanigan: Joe Kelly Worked Efficiently In Win Over Yankees (Video)

After Friday night’s 19-inning marathon, the Boston Red Sox desperately needed a strong, lengthy outing from starting pitcher Joe Kelly. And Kelly delivered just that. In his 2015 debut, the right-hander pitched seven stellar innings at the Bronx, holding the New York Yankees to one hit and one run while striking out eight and walking two. Kelly, who dealt with biceps soreness in spring training, originally was expected to last just five or six innings, but needed just 93 pitches before departing after seven in Boston’s eventual 8-4 win. Kelly’s battery mate, catcher Ryan Hanigan, observed after the game that the hurler was able to ...
