Heath Evans, like many Auburn fans and alumni, was disgusted with the Tigers’ performance against LSU on Saturday. The former Auburn fullback, though, seems to be directing much of his frustration at one person in particular: head coach Gus Malzahn. No. 10 Auburn got up 20-0 in the second quarter against LSU, but eventually collapsed and fell 27-23 in Baton Rouge, La. Not helping matters was Malzahn, who made a puzzling decision to go for it on fourth down with over two minutes left in the game, his team trailing and deep in their own territory. It’s hard to say all of Price’s 11 hits and five earned runs against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday were a product of poor pitching, as the wind at Fenway Park was like something out of “The Wizard of Oz” for the first couple of innings. Henry Owens made his 2016 major league debut and David Ortiz played his final game in Houston, but it was Heath Hembree who was the hero of the Boston Red Sox’s series against the Astros. Hembree, who only was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday, came on in the 10th inning after Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel blew his save opportunity in the ninth by allowing Astros left fielder Colby Rasmus to tie the game with a two-run homer.
