Max Kellerman Takes Break From Tom Brady ‘Cliff’ Talk, Offers High Praise

Max Kellerman Takes Break From Tom Brady ‘Cliff’ Talk, Offers High Praise

Max Kellerman’s perception of Tom Brady is well-documented. Kellerman — for several years now, mind you — has stood on his soapbox that is ESPN’s “First Take” and declared that Brady soon will fall off a cliff in terms of skill level. Kellerman is so deep in his take that he stood by it after the 41-year-old quarterback lit it up in the New England Patriots’ divisional-round win over the Los Angeles Chargers. But while Kellerman is of the belief that Brady can’t provide enough for the Patriots to win Super Bowl LIII, that doesn’t mean he can’t respect the signal-caller’s illustrious body of work. Kellerman made that abundantly clea... NESN.com

Backes earned a minor penalty for an illegal check to the head with two minutes to go in Thursday night’s loss at TD Garden. The B’s veteran does have a history with Player Safety after a three-game suspension last season for a hit on Red Wings

Bruce Cassidy Offers High Praise For David Backes After Bruins’ Win

The term “unsung hero” gets thrown around quite a bit in professional sports, but David Backes certainly fits the mold for the Boston Bruins. Backes isn’t going to stuff the stat sheet on a nightly basis, but he manages to make an impact for the B’s both off and on the ice. While Backes’ leadership skills are well-documented, Bruce Cassidy on Thursday provided further insight into what Backes brings to the Black and Gold. Despite allowing four runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings, the right-hander picked up a victory thanks in large part to the Boston Red Sox’s 14-hit barrage in their 10-4 win over the Minnesota Twins. After the game, Porcello made sure to tip his hat to his offense, which has been a consistent force all season long. Here’s How Expos Tried To Persuade Tom Brady To Give Up Football

Share this: Tom Brady was a very skilled catcher in high school, and probably could have taken his baseball career to the professional level. The only problem was inquiring MLB teams knew football was his priority. But one club tried to change his mind. The Montreal Expos were enthralled by Brady’s makeup, and believed he possessed everything it took to be a successful big leaguer. “(Brady) had a high ceiling,” Kevin Malone, the Expos’ general manager at the time, told the Monday Morning Quarterback. “He was a left-handed, power-hitting catcher who was cerebral. He had arm strength. He had everything that would warrant him being projected as a major league all-star. He had everything.” Although they knew it was a risk, Malone and the
