Red Sox Notes: John Farrell Provides Update On Mookie Betts’ Injured Knee

Red Sox Notes: John Farrell Provides Update On Mookie Betts’ Injured Knee

There wasn’t much to get excited about for the Boston Red Sox on Thursday night in the series finale against the Cleveland Indians. Chris Sale turned in his worst start of the season, as the left-hander was shelled for six runs on seven hits over just three innings of work. Sale wasn’t the only Boston pitcher who struggled, though, as Cleveland collected 18 hits in its 13-6 blowout victory. But the pitching woes weren’t the biggest cause for concern Thursday night. In the seventh inning, Mookie Betts exited the game with a right knee contusion. After the game, Red Sox manager John Farrell provided an update on Betts’ ailment. “It’s a ... NESN.com

Red Sox Notes: Eduardo Nunez, Rafael Devers Exceeding Expectations For Boston

The Boston Red Sox struggled mightily upon returning from the Major League Baseball All-Star break, and a lack of offense was one of the primary reasons why. The Red Sox simply couldn’t string multiple hits together, and scored three runs or less in seven of their first 14 games after the break. But the Red Sox’s bats suddenly have found a spark, in large part due to a 20-year-old prospect and a player acquired via trade that went fairly under the radar. Rafael Devers and Eduardo Nunez both have been red hot since arriving to Boston, and have helped the Sox post a three-game winning streak, with the latest victory coming in Thursday

Jackie Bradley Jr. Cites Lack Of Aggressiveness As Factor In Red Sox Loss

Share this: The Boston Red Sox’s bats have seen better days. Boston’s offense struggled mightily Friday night against the Baltimore Orioles, as it only had four hits in a 3-2 loss at Camden Yards. Orioles starter Alec Asher stymied the Red Sox over 6 1/3 innings of work, only allowing the two runs on three hits with five strikeouts. Jackie Bradley Jr. thinks the Sox might have been a little too patient with Asher, who pounded the strike zone throughout his outing.
