These Boston Red Sox never say die, and that never was more apparent than in Friday night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles. Boston fell into an early 8-3 hole, but the Sox battled back to take the lead. The Red Sox score six runs in the sixth, three in the seventh and five in the eighth to beat the O’s 19-12. Brock Holt Already Feeling Better After Suffering Knee Contusion Vs.Tigers
Brock Holt left Friday’s game against the Detroit Tigers after suffering a right knee contusion during the fourth inning. After David Price got John Hicks to line out to left with the bases loaded, left fielder Andrew Benintendi uncorked a wild throw that sailed to the backstop, setting off a wild sequence. Price retrieved the ball and had Jeimer Candelario hung up between second and third. Candelario raced back to second and Price fired a throw to double him off. BOSTON — Brock Holt is going right back to work. The Red Sox utility man came off the disabled list, where he had been since he suffered a concussion May 19, Friday and already is back in Boston’s lineup against the Los Angeles Angels. Holt will play left field and bat sixth. Hanley Ramirez is absent from Friday’s lineup after tweaking his back Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Red Sox manager John Farrell said whether Ramirez is available off the bench will be a game-time decision.
