Celtics Notes: Boston-Houston Would Be Must-See NBA Finals Matchup

They say styles make fights, and the two games between the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets have been nothing short of box office material. And while an NBA Finals matchup might not be likely, with the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers lurking, it would be nothing short must-see TV. The Celtics took Round 1 after overcoming a 26-point deficit thanks to a couple late miscues from James Harden, but the Rockets delivered some payback Saturday night at Toyota Center. The game was a seesaw affair, with neither team leading by more than eight at any point in the contest. Boston held the upper hand for most of the second half, l... NESN.com

James Harden Sued For Allegedly Orchestrating Moses Malone Jr.’s Robbery, Per Re…

Share this: James Harden finds himself in a bizarre legal situation just days after his Houston Rockets’ playoff exit. Harden is being sued by Moses Malone Jr., who claims the Rockets guard orchestrated a plan to assault and rob Malone last year, according to Isiah Carey of FOX 26 News in Houston. Malone, the son of NBA legend Moses Malone, was beaten by a group of men at Houston’s V-Live strip club last June and reportedly had $15,000 worth of jewelry stolen from him. At the time, Malone’s lawyers claimed he was confronted because of a critical Facebook post he made about Harden. Malone apparently was upset that the NBA star was charging $250 for a basketball camp. According to Carey, Malone’s suit alleges that

Stephen A. Smith On James Harden’s No-Show: ‘He Looks Like He Was Drugged’

Share this: With talks of a “Space Jam” sequel coming down the road, it looked Thursday night like Houston Rockets star James Harden might have had his talent stripped by the Monstars — and that’s probably a theory ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith would believe. Harden picked a bad time for one of the worst games of his career, as he was a no-show in the Rockets’ season-ending Game 6 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The banged-up Spurs annihilated the Rockets 114-75, while Harden scored just 10 points on 2-of-11 shooting with six turnovers before eventually fouling out. Smith, in an appearance late Thursday night on “SportsCenter,” struggled to find an answer for Harden’s performance. He joked (at least we think he’s joking) that

Russell Westbrook Doesn’t Give A (Expletive) About His Game 2 Stats In Loss

Share this: Russell Westbrook did everything he could during the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Game 2 loss to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night at Toyota Center. Westbrook scored 51 points in the highest-scoring triple-double in NBA playoff history. But it wasn’t enough, as James Harden’s 35 points propelled the Rockets to a 115-111 come-from-behind win in their first-round NBA playoff series. And Westbrook, arguably the MVP front-runner, went cold in the fourth quarter, shooting a lowly 4-for-18 from the field in the final frame. When he was asked about his record-setting performance after the game, Westbrook responded as you would expect. Warning: This video has NSFW language. Thunder's Russell Westbrook on posting NBA's first postseason 50-point triple-double: "I don't give a f— about the line. We

Celtics Wrap: Isaiah Thomas’ 38 Points Carry Celtics Past Rockets 120-109

Share this: The Boston Celtics snapped their three-game losing streak with a convincing 120-109 win over the Houston Rockets at TD Garden Wednesday night. Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics, scoring 38 points and dishing out nine assists. Jae Crowder posted a double-double for Boston as well, posting 23 points and 10 rebounds. Al Horford also had a strong offensive night for the Celtics with 20 points. James Harden contributed a 30-point night for Houston, but only shot 6 of 18 from the field. The Rockets managed to get to the free-throw line a whopping 38 times, but only converted on 27. With the win, Boston improves to 27-18, while Houston drops to 34-15. Here’s how it all went down.
