Tom Brady Breaks Down How Jaguars Neutralized Patriots’ Passing Attack

The New England Patriots are pretty thin at wide receiver, so the bar already was set low entering Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. But New England’s wideouts still fell short of that bar at TIAA Bank Field. Only three Patriots receivers caught a pass from Tom Brady in the team’s 31-20 loss: Phillip Dorsett (5 catches for 44 yards), Chris Hogan (3 catches for 42 yards and two touchdowns) and Cordarrelle Patterson (3 catches for 18 yards). Almost all of those receptions were short catch-and-runs; Brady didn’t connect on a pass over 30 yards and threw a team-high seven completions to running back James White out of the backfield. Tom Brady, Josh McDaniels Go Berserk After Patriots’ Ugly First Quarter Vs. Jaguars

The weather in Jacksonville is blazing hot Sunday, but the New England Patriots were ice cold to start their Week 2 clash with the Jaguars at TIAA Bank Field. New England’s offense simply couldn’t get anything going against Jacksonville, collecting only two first downs in the first quarter. The defense wasn’t much better, as Blake Bortles and Co. torched the visitors to help the Jags hold a 14-0 lead after the opening 15 minutes of play. Both quarterback Tom Brady and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels understandably weren’t pleased with the Patriots’ first-quarter effort, and they each let their frustration boil over on the sideline ahead o... Max Kellerman is at it again. The co-host of ESPN’s “First Take” has been trolling New England Patriots fans and taking odd shots at “ordinary” Tom Brady all season. So it should come as no surprise that when Kellerman was asked on Monday’s episode whether or not the Jacksonville Jaguars are a serious threat to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, he answered with a resounding yes. But while Kellerman noted the Jaguars have a stout defense, as did co-host Stephen A. Smith, his main reason for kind of picking Jacksonville to pull the upset was quarterback Blake Bortles. Yes, you read that correctly. Here’s what Kelle... NESN.com

Jaguars fire Del Rio, team to be sold (AP)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP)—The Jacksonville Jaguars are headed in a completely new direction. And Los Angeles doesn’t appear to be the destination. Team owner Wayne Weaver fired longtime coach Jack Del Rio on Tuesday after a 3-8 start and agreed to sell the Jaguars to Illinois businessman Shahid Khan. Weaver named defensive coordinator Mel Tucker the interim coach and gave general manager Gene Smith a three-year contract extension, putting him in charge of the coaching search. The moves marked the most significant changes for the small-market franchise since its inception in 1993. “It’s the right thing at the right time and for the right reasons,” Weaver said. “We deserve better; the community deserves better. We’ve been very average over the last few years. I take
