Edelman, now a wide receiver for the New England Patriots, was a junior quarterback at Kent State at the time, leading the Golden Flashes into the Horseshoe to take on an Ohio State team that was ranked third in the nation. The result was … not pretty. Edelman posted a miserable 6.8 passer rating (4 of 10, 49 yards, one interception) and rushed eight times for negative-7 yards in a 48-3 loss. Pretty brutal performance, right? Not in Bill Belichick’s eyes. The Patriots coach, who used a seventh-round pick on Edelman in 2009, on Wednesday singled out that

Even if Edelman had caught the ball, right guard Shaq Mason was flagged for holding. Second quarter, 4:42, Patriots 14-7: The Steelers wasted a scoring opportunity with a missed field goal, giving the Patriots the ball at their own 24-yard line. A holding call brought back a touchdown pass from Landry Jones to Darrius Heyward-Bey. The Steelers had a chance to make this one very interesting. Second quarter, 8:10, Patriots 14-7: The drive went poorly for the Patriots. Brandon Bolden dropped a sure-first down on third down and Ryan Allen’s punt went off the side of his foot and

Patriots Reportedly ‘Comfortable If They Have To’ Start Julian Edelman At QB
Share this: The New England Patriots’ Week 4 matchup with the Buffalo Bills still is a week away, which gives quarterbacks Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett valuable time to heal. But what if injuries to Garoppolo’s shoulder and Brissett’s thumb don’t allow them to take the field next Sunday against the Bills? “Signing another quarterback is regarded, as I’m told, a last resort for the Patriots because, No. 1 they don’t want to have to cut somebody to create a roster spot for a quarterback, but No. 2 they actually would prefer to go with a Julian Edelman, even though he hasn’t played quarterback since college, because he knows the offense inside and out,” ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio reported on “Sunday Night Football”. “You
Here Are Some Highlights Of Julian Edelman Playing QB At Kent State
Share this: The New England Patriots could enter Thursday night’s game against the Houston Texans with the understanding that wide receiver Julian Edelman might be called upon to play quarterback. It would take an unfortunate set of circumstances, as the Patriots are expected to hand the quarterback keys to rookie Jacoby Brissett with Jimmy Garoppolo injured and Tom Brady still serving his Deflategate suspension. But New England hasn’t added a quarterback and Garoppolo might not dress for the game, leaving Brissett as the only legitimate quarterback on the Patriots’ roster. If that ends up being the case, Edelman likely will serve as New England’s backup quarterback. The Patriots’ hope surely is that Brissett stays healthy and on the field, eliminating the need for
