by Zack Cox on Fri, Sep 8, 2017 at 2:38AM 1,691 FOXBORO, Mass. — Some notes and nuggets as we process exactly how the New England Patriots were beaten so badly by the Kansas City Chiefs in Thursday night’s season opener: — First, a positive: Mike Gillislee scored three touchdowns in his Patriots debut, plowing into the end zone twice from 2 yards out and once from 1 yard out. He finished with 45 yards on 15 carries in the 42-27 loss and should see plenty of work as New England’s goal-li... NESN.com

Chiefs’ Tamba Hali Defends Joe Paterno With Robert Kraft-Aaron Hernandez Question

Chiefs’ Tamba Hali Defends Joe Paterno With Robert Kraft-Aaron Hernandez Question

Tamba Hali had quite a weekend on social media. Not only did the veteran linebacker question whether the Kansas City Chiefs need him anymore after playing limited snaps in his team’s AFC divisional round playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last season. He also defended former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno, who died in 2012 just months after being fired amid the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal. Hali, who played at Penn State from 2002 to 2005, started defending Paterno seemingly out of the blue Sunday night, and his defense included references to O.J. Simpson, George Zimmerman, Robert Kraft and Aaron Hernandez. Hali clearly believ... NESN.com

Chiefs Sign RB C.J. Spiller, Possibly Moving On From Jamaal Charles

Share this: The NFL free agency period has not yet begun, but the Kansas City Chiefs have already made a splash. The team announced the signing of veteran running back C.J. Spiller on Friday. The 29-year-old back had brief stints with the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets last season, playing in a total of six games between the two teams. While Spiller is not a marquee signing by any means, the move raised question marks regarding the Chiefs roster. Kansas City already has a plethora of backs, including skilled runners in Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West. With strong depth in the backfield, it is believed that the odd man out could be Jamaal Charles. When healthy, Charles has been one of the premier

Travis Kelce Ejected From Chiefs-Jaguars For Throwing Towel At Referee

Share this: Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce wasn’t able to finish Sunday afternoon’s home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of a foolish decision. Kelce lost his cool after yelling at a referee and threw his towel in the official’s direction. He was ejected from the game immediately after. It looked like Kelce was unhappy with a previous call(s), but there’s still no excuse for his behavior. The Chiefs still won 19-14 to move into a first-place tie with the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos atop the AFC West. Thumbnail photo via Jeff Curry/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link
