Kyrie Irving has been sensational for the Boston Celtics this season, to say the least. But don’t let his play cause you to forget how great Isaiah Thomas was during his time in Boston. ESPN reporter Chris Forsberg recently published an article about how clutch Irving has been since joining the C’s, and compared his crunch-time numbers to those of Thomas. No harm, no foul. However, the headline on ESPN.com read, “Isaiah who? Why Kyrie Irving is Boston’s new king of clutch time.” Assuming Thomas would have something to say about this, Twitter user Zach Pisani tweeted the photo at the Cleveland Cavaliers guard. Thomas took the bait, and offer... NESN.com

Celtics Notes: Kyrie Irving, Al Horford Show They Are Lethal Dynamic Duo
The Boston Celtics expected to have a three-headed monster entering the 2017-18 NBA campaign. And while the injury to Gordon Hayward altered that outlook, Thursday night showed the Celtics’ dynamic duo still is plenty lethal. Kyrie Irving and Al Horford always were going to need some time to develop chemistry, but it appears the two stars are well ahead of schedule after they combined for 51 points in the C’s 96-89 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at BMO Bradley Center. For the first time this season, Irving looked like the “Uncle Drew” from Cleveland, as he showed a variety of offensive moves, including a devastating crossover on Giannis Antetoko... NESN.com
Kyrie Irving Has ‘No Regrets” After Vulgar Outburst Toward Sixers Fan
Kyrie Irving had a bit of a foot-in-mouth moment during the Boston Celtics’ 102-92 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday. The Celtics guard, however, apparently wouldn’t change a thing. As Irving headed toward the locker room with his team trailing at halftime, a 76ers fan yelled, “Hey Kyrie, where’s LeBron (James)?” The new Celtic quickly responded in a very NSFW way, and the moment was captured on video. Less than a day later, Irving owned up to his actions, but also showed little-to-no remorse. Watch his explanation in the clip below: Alright then. It’s perfectly understandable that Irving had a lapse in judge in the ... NESN.com
Cavs Elect Not To Show Kyrie Irving Tribute Video In Opener Vs. Celtics
The Cleveland Cavaliers’ plan to honor Kyrie Irving on Tuesday night never came to fruition. It was revealed Monday that the Cavs had a tribute video in store for Irving, who spent his first six NBA seasons in Cleveland before being traded to the Boston Celtics during the offseason. The video, which was expected to be shown during Tuesday’s season opener against Boston, reportedly highlighted Irving’s accomplishments during his time with the franchise. The video never saw the light of day though, as Cavaliers officials, including team owner Dan Gilbert, decided the right moment to air the tribute never presented itself, per Cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon... Did Kyrie Irving Troll LeBron James With Special Hat During Press Conference?
The NBA’s pettiness level always is off the charts, but it’s about to hit another level this season. After Kyrie Irving demanded an offseason trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers in order to get out of LeBron James’ shadow, it was clear that the two weren’t exactly on good terms. The two took subtle shots at each other on social media and in interviews throughout the summer. And now that Irving is a member of the Boston Celtics, the Cavs’ chief Eastern Conference rivals, the shots are bound to keep coming. That appeared to be the case after the Celtics’ preseason game against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday when Irving wore a hat with a mess... NESN.com
NBA Twitter Had Jokes After Kyrie Irving Trade Finally Was Completed
After more than a week, the deal finally is done. The Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly finalized their megadeal Wednesday that will send Kyrie Irving to Boston in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, the Brooklyn Nets’ 2018 first-round draft pick and a 2020 second-round pick. And that last part is what all the hold up was about. As you probably know, the deal hit a snag when the Cavs were alarmed by Thomas’ nagging right hip injury and demanded more compensation. And after a few days of posturing and negotiations, the 2020 second-round pick, which originally belonged to the Miami Heat, is what got the deal do... NESN.com
Kyrie Irving Will ‘End Up Getting Traded,’ Former Cavs GM David Griffin Says
The Cleveland Cavaliers have had a tumultuous offseason, to say the least. The three-time defending Eastern Conference champions have dealt with the exit of general manager David Griffin, constant rumors of LeBron James’ eventual exit in 2018 and Kyrie Irving’s trade request. And while Cavs owner Dan Gilbert might claim Irving will be with the team come November, Griffin, who appeared on ESPN’s “The Jump” on Monday, has a different idea. “I think Kyrie is going to end up getting traded,” Griffin said. “I think what Ron was saying is really unfair to Kyrie. I don’t think this is youth and ignorance. This is a guy who handled the situati... NESN.com
