The Boston Celtics’ season came to screeching halt Sunday night when the Cleveland Cavaliers came into TD Garden and grabbed an 87-79 win in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals. It was an unbelievable ride for a young Celtics team without its two best players in Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. While the C’s didn’t have enough in the tank to overtake LeBron James on a stage that he has owned for most of his career, the future is unquestionably bright for Boston. That being said, the day after a season-ending loss is all about what could have been, and a number of Celtics voiced their thoughts Monday on what was an ugly

Red Sox Notes: Mookie Betts Shines In Boston’s 7-4 Loss To Orioles
Even in a loss, Mookie Betts still finds a way to produce. The Boston Red Sox right fielder went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run thanks to his 14th blast of the season in the 7-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night at Fenway Park. “I’m not trying to be a power hitter,” Betts said after the game, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “I work hard every day … but being consistent is the main thing.” Well, the power is most certainly there for the 25-year-old. He now has 59 hits on the season with 14 home runs and 30 RBIs. Betts is tied with O’s shortstop Manny Machado for
Red Sox Wrap: David Price Allows Seven Earned Runs In 11-5 Loss To Rangers
The Boston Red Sox’s 10-game road trip didn’t get off to the greatest start. Boston dropped an ugly 11-5 decision to the Texas Rangers on Thursday night at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Sox starter David Price lasted just 3 2/3 innings, allowing nine runs (seven earned) with the Rangers smacking a total of 11 hits off Boston pitchers. With the loss, the Red Sox fall to 22-9, while the Rangers climbed to 13-20. Here’s how it all went down: GAME IN A WORDUgly. The Red Sox’s pitching left plenty to be desired, and from the fourth inning on the result hardly was in doubt. ON THE BU... NESN.com
Red Sox Wrap: Bats Silenced In 3-0 Loss As Athletics’ Sean Manaea No-Hits Boston
The Oakland Athletics did what no team has done to the Red Sox in 25 years. A’s starter Sean Manaea threw the first no-hitter of the 2018 MLB season against the leagues’ best offense when they beat the Boston Red Sox, 3-0 Saturday night. He gave up two walks and the A’s did commit an error, but it’s the zero in the hit column that highlights the game. This was Oakland’s first no-hitter since Dallas Braden threw a perfect game on Mother’s Day in 2010. Chris Sale gave up three runs and struck out 10 batters, but Manaea was locked in from the get-go, only needing 108 pitches to secure the no-hitter for Oakland.
Bruins’ Poor Start Too Much To Overcome In 4-2 Loss To Sabres
Patrice Bergeron was not happy the Boston Bruins lost Saturday night to the team at the bottom of the NHL’s Atlantic division. Bruce Cassidy Impressed By Performance Of Ducks Goalies In Bruins Loss
The Boston Bruins’ point streak was halted at 18 games Tuesday night, and much of that was due to the performance of Anaheim Ducks goaltenders John Gibson and Ryan Miller. The Bruins lost 3-1, not scoring until the final minute of the third period, and both netminders stifled Boston’s offense from start to finish, impressing B’s head coach Bruce Cassidy.
