Bills’ Tyrod Taylor Suffers Head Injury On Final Drive Of Loss To Jags

Bills’ Tyrod Taylor Suffers Head Injury On Final Drive Of Loss To Jags

Through 58 minutes Sunday’s AFC Wild Card Round matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars was relatively uneventful. The final two minutes were a different story, however. Buffalo trailed 10-3 late in the fourth quarter of what was an old-fashioned, defense-heavy affair. Facing a 3rd-and-five from his own 42-yard line, Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor scrambled for two yards, but took a vicious hit from Jags defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. at the end of the play. The 28-year-old laid motionless while medical staff attended to him, but eventually got to his feet and walked off the field on his own power. Here’s the play: NESN.com

Lakers’ Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Tries, Fails At Alley-Oop To Himself

Lakers’ Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Tries, Fails At Alley-Oop To Himself

Friendly reminder to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: you are not LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers guard tried to channel the King during his team’s 121-106 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday. During the third quarter, Pope put on his fancy pants and tried to alley-oop the ball to himself off the backboard. But as you’ll see in the video below, he failed miserably. Shame. The only scenario in which this would be acceptable is if the shot clock were running out and Pope’s options were limited. But there were 10 seconds left on the clock, so he really has no excuse. With the loss, the Lakers dropped to 11-23 on the season, good... NESN.com

Patrice Bergeron Laments Bruins’ ‘Unfortunate’ Overtime Loss To Kings

The Boston Bruins had one of the NHL’s hottest teams on the ropes Saturday night, but the Los Angeles Kings’ late-game magic pegged the B’s with a frustrating loss. After a back-and-forth, evenly matched contest, the Kings earned their ninth win of the season with a last-second goal that just narrowly beat the final buzzer of the overtime period. Patrice Bergeron tipped his cap to L.A. after the Bruins’ 2-1 loss, but he understandably was upset with the outcome considering how well his team played for the majority of the game. To hear from Bergeron, as well as Tuukka Rask, check out the video above from “NESN Sports Today,” presented ... NESN.com

Patriots Notes: Finding Bright Spots In New England’s Ugly Loss To Chiefs

by Zack Cox on Fri, Sep 8, 2017 at 2:38AM 1,691 FOXBORO, Mass. — Some notes and nuggets as we process exactly how the New England Patriots were beaten so badly by the Kansas City Chiefs in Thursday night’s season opener: — First, a positive: Mike Gillislee scored three touchdowns in his Patriots debut, plowing into the end zone twice from 2 yards out and once from 1 yard out. He finished with 45 yards on 15 carries in the 42-27 loss and should see plenty of work as New England’s goal-li... NESN.com
