No, not only for having an awesome name, but also for becoming the United States’ first gold medalist at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Thrasher won gold in the women’s 10m air rifle competition Saturday. She dethroned 2012 gold medalist Yi Siling, forcing the Chinese sharp-shooter to settle for a bronze medal. Picabo Street, Former U.S. Gold Medalist Skier, Allegedly Beat Up Dad

A former U.S. Olympian went to jail recently. Picabo Street, a 2002 Gold medalist skier, was arrested last month and later charged with assault, according to the Associated Press, citing charging documents. The 44-year-old reportedly locked her 76-year-old father in the basement before calling authorities. She told police that her father had pulled her hair as a result of a fight, the report states. Her father, Roland Street, told police his daughter “got angry and started yelling after he bumped his car into the house while trying to leave,” according to documents cited by the AP.
