Olympic Swimming Results: Michael Phelps, Simone Manuel Win On Historic Night

The swimming competitions at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro have reached fever pitch. USA’s Michael Phelps and Simone Manuel won gold medals Thursday night, making swimming history that will resonate far beyond the confines of the Olympic Aquatics Stadium. Phelps won the gold medal in the men’s 200m individual medley final, dispatching rival Ryan Lochte and the rest of the competition with startling ease. Phelps became the first swimmer to win four consecutive Olympic gold medals in the same event. Just 38 minutes after winning the 200, Phelps progressed to the final of the 100m butterfly. He accepted his record 22nd gold medal in-betwee... NESN.com

Michael Phelps Turned To The Dark Side Before Olympic Semifinal Vs. Chad le Clos

There’s a reason Michael Phelps is the greatest Olympian of all time. While we always thought it was a combination of God-given ability and extreme dedication, the 19-time gold medalist revealed there could be other factors at work. Like The Dark Side of The Force.  Observe. Talk about motor overload. Phelps was so incredibly focused he seemingly embraced The Dark Side while his South African rival, Chad le Clos, shadow boxed in front of him. It made for quite a scene in which Phelps looked angry with le Clos before their semifinal race to reach the final of the 200M butterfly, Phelps’ signature event. Le Clos just out-touched Phelps... Michael Young Almost Socked Elvis Andrus In The Face Over A Clown Mask

Share this: A word to the wise: Don’t clown with Michael Young. The retired infielder and seven-time All-Star was inducted into the Texas Rangers’ Hall of Fame on Sunday, and the ceremonies went off without a hitch — well, expect for that moment Young nearly punched Elvis Andrus in the face. Don’t worry, we can explain. See, Young is deathly afraid of clowns, and Andrus, the team’s resident prankster, decided to troll him by wearing the clown mask donned by Jigsaw in the “Saw” movie franchise. But when Young caught a glimpse of Andrus’ scary mask, he came *this* close to delivering a swing. Fortunately, Young was a good sport about the whole thing after the fact — he evened explained his rationale for hating clowns

Mookie Betts Out Of Red Sox’s Lineup Vs. Twins; Michael Martinez Starts In RF

Share this: BOSTON — Mookie Betts is getting his first day off  for the Red Sox this season. The right fielder exited Friday night’s game against the Minnesota Twins in the top of the fifth inning with knee soreness and is still considered day-to-day going forward. Utility man Michael Martinez will start in right for Betts on Saturday and bat ninth after going 1-for-2 with two great catches as his replacement in Friday’s 2-1 loss. Travis Shaw also is getting a breather in Boston’s third game against the Twins, and Aaron Hill will play third base and bat seventh. Left fielder Brock Holt is the leadoff hitter in Betts’ absence, too. David Price is on the mound for the Red Sox, and he’ll be looking to

Michael Jordan Is The Only Person On Earth Who Doesn’t Like Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart might be the funniest guy on the planet right now, but the greatest basketball player ever probably doesn’t care for him very much. Appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote his new movie “Central Intelligence,” the actor and comedian told a story about how he was doing a comedy bit at a charity event Jordan was at when he started picking on the weird pants MJ was wearing and the awkward mustache he was sporting at the time. His Airness apparently didn’t take kindly to the friendly jabs. On the bright side, at least MJ switched up that awful ‘stache style. h/t to Uproxx Thumbnail photo via R...

Olympian Michael Phelps Strips To Speedo, Distracts Free Throw Shooter (Videos)

Michael Phelps never went to college. The world clearly missed out on Michael Phelps in college. The swimmer and most decorated Olympian of all time added a new line to his already impressive resume on Thursday: Featured guest behind The Curtain of Distraction. Phelps aided the Arizona State basketball student section during a Pac-12 contest against Oregon State. We’ll let the videos speak for themselves. Phelps seemed pretty happy with himself (ASU went on to win the game, 86-68), and who could blame him: the shooter missed both free throws. We shouldn’t really be surprised, though. Phelps has never been one to lose — at anyth...
