Runaway race win for perfect Pecco at Misano

Despite the best efforts from Schrötter, including an ambitious lunge up the inside at Turn 14 on the final lap, Oliveira minimises the damage done in the overall standings to take a vital P2. Schrötter finally gets the podium monkey off his back in P3, with Pasini holding off a late challenge from Joan Mir (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) to take fourth on home soil – the Spaniard rounding out the top five. Lorenzo Baldassarri (Pons HP40) fought back from P13 on the grid to take sixth at his home GP, with Fabio Quartararo (+ Ego Speed Up Racing) taking seventh – a slender 0.066 ahead of Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Brad Binder in eighth. Moto2™ back on track at Aragon

Championship leader and Sunday’s race winner Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) chose to focus on suspension setup with further Öhlins development following the Official Test at the Red Bull Ring back in August. With teammate Alex Marquez missing the test to recover from his injury picked up in Misano, Morbidelli also tried a smaller diameter disc from Yutaka in a productive day for the Italian. Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team), runner-up on race day, also concentrated on suspension, but only stayed for the opening hour of the test. Source link

“Race by race”: the Press Conference kicks off Misano

Back to the home heroes, Andrea Iannone was another in attendance getting ready for the second round on Italian soil. Sitting out the race last season due to injury, the ‘Maniac’ is back this year and wants to get a solid result in a difficult season: “It’s a very difficult season for us. I hope in these last six races we improve the performance a bit. It’s very difficult for me to talk about the situation, we always try our best, in the garage and on track – and me at home, in the gym I try every day to improve. But it’s difficult at the moment, the feeling with the bike for me, and I struggle a lot. But I

Can Fenati fight back on home turf?

The British GP saw something else significant, however, with Enea Bastianini (Estrella Galicia 0,0) taking second and his first podium of the season after a tough year. And the Italian is the rider with the best record at Misano, taking his first win there in 2015 and then coming home a close-fought second in 2016. The ‘Beast’ may well be back. His compatriots – including Mugello winner Andrea Migno (Sky Racing Team VR46) and teammate Nicolo Bulega – will also be pushing hard at home. At Misano, there is more at stake than points. Lowes: “My target is to win the Moto2 title”

SL22: “We had a good test at Misano, I only did 40 laps because of my injured foot from Brno, which is still damaged so I didn’t do too much but it’s a track that I like and I’ve done a bit there on a MotoGP bike. I look forward to it and it’s the team’s home race which is always nice. I love Misano, I can’t wait to get there. For me now the goal is to get closer to the front, get in the points and try and sneak a top ten before the end of the season. Keep plugging away, enjoy it as much as I can, and give everything, every lap so I’m in good stead

Baz to miss Misano

Xavi Fores: “I'm very happy that Avintia Racing have given me this opportunity. I'm sure it's going to be a great experience. My intention is just to enjoy it as much as I can, leave pressure at home and not go out there with anything to prove, because it's a completely different bike to what I've ridden so far. We need to be aware that everything is going to be new to me and I just want to enjoy it! As with every rider, the chance to get on a MotoGP bike is gratifying, and I think this weekend I will have a great experience. It will be important to not make any mistakes and to not hurt myself because

“Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli” unveiled

The bureaucratic procedure, which started last November when the Board of Directors of Santa Monica Spa, owners of the circuit, unanimously decided to accept the proposal to link the name of the circuit to the late Italian champion has now been completed. This task has been carried out in full agreement with the Simoncelli family. The circuit now becomes the ‘Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli’. Paolo Simoncelli, accompanied by his wife Rossella and by the family adviser Arnaldo Cappellini, said: "I‘m deeply touched in seeing the circuit of Misano named after Marco. We've received affection from all over the world in the recent months, but today is a very special day. I’m grateful to Santa Monica Spa, owners of the circuit, and
