MotoGP™ race red-flagged after 14 laps, restart to come

Three quarter race distance wasn’t completed, meaning a new race start of 14 laps is to be run, with only the riders who crossed the line on the previous lap allowed to re-start the race. At the time, the top three was led by Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar), with Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) and Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) – meaning that’s your front row for the 16-rider race re-start.  Source link

SUM Of its parts: MotoGP™ wrestles in Japan

When the morning sun rises in Tokyo, so too do the Rikishi (Sumo) in training at Tokyo’s Arashio Heya (Sumo House), and today, they changed up their training to invite World Championship riders Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda Idemitsu), Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) and Jorge Martín (Del Conca Gresini Moto3) to train together ahead of the Motul Grand Prix of Japan. MotoGP™ remains on Eurosport in the Netherlands and Flanders

Since obtaining the rights in 2015 Eurosport have reached 6.4 million* people with broadcasts around MotoGP™. The races in the premier class attracted the most attention, with at least 120,000 viewers per race on average every season. 2016 jumped out with an average of 150,000 viewers. The best viewed race was the culmination of the 2015 season in Valencia, where 265,000 viewers saw Jorge Lorenzo become champion. The absolute peak was during the Assen TT in 2016, when 281,000 viewers were ready for the restart of the race after it had been postponed by heavy rainfall. Source link

With two French riders exciting home crowds next year, the FIM MotoGP™ World Championship is set to benefit in France from the partnership with CANAL+ with its professionalism and experience in motorsport broadcasting. This agreement confirms the dynamic variety of CANAL+’s motorsport offering, with the media already broadcasting the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, Formula 2 and GP3, as well as the IndyCar Series, Formula E and the French Rally Championship. MotoGP™ eSport Championship Semi-Final 1: where to watch

There will be extensive TV and digital coverage of the showdown, with Movistar MotoGP, and Movistar eSports for Spain - and Movistar eSports will also show the Semi-Final on YouTube. Fox Sports Australia and Sky New Zealand - the latter on SKY Sport channels and online platforms SkyGO and Fanpass - provide coverage in Oceania, ESPN will broadcast across Latin America (with the exception of Brazil), with OSN in the Middle East & North Africa, Sport 5 (Israel), and Fox Sports Asia also all showing the event in their territories. MotoGP™ riders meet the Pope at the Vatican

The event, in conjunction with the National Italian Olympic Committee (Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano, CONI) and with the support of the Italian Motorcycling Federation (Federazione Motociclistica Italiana, or FMI), took place on Wednesday morning. The President of the CONI, Giovanni Malagò, said a few words first before the Pope then spoke, affirming the importance of sport in many different ways.  Source link

MotoGP™ riders to meet Pope Francis

Giovanni Copioli, President of the FMI, will be accompanying the MotoGP™ delegation. With him, Giovanni Malagò, CONI President, and Carlo Mornati, CONI General Secretary, both are institutional representatives who worked to make this historic meeting possible.
