NBA Rumors: Blazers Land Jusuf Nurkic, Trade Mason Plumlee To Nuggets

Share this: The Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets don’t feel like waiting until the NBA’s Feb. 23 trade deadline. The two teams completed a trade Sunday that involved the Blazers sending center Mason Plumlee and a 2018 second-round pick to Denver in exchange for Nuggets center Jusuf Nurkic and the Memphis Grizzzlies’ 2017 first-round pick, league sources told The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski. It’s the first significant deal of the NBA’s unofficial “trade season” and could have benefits for both clubs. Portland gets size/strength, spares paying Plumlee extension this summer; Denver gets a good passing center to play with Jokic. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) February 12, 2017 Plumlee was enjoying a career season in Portland, averaging 11.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as of Sunday.

Watch Paul Pierce Make His Celtics Debut Exactly 18 Years Ago Today

Share this: BOSTON — Paul Pierce’s NBA career will come full circle at TD Garden on Sunday. Pierce, who is retiring after this season, will make his final appearance in Boston when his Los Angeles Clippers take on the Celtics. As fate would have it, the veteran forward’s NBA career officially began 18 years ago — to the exact day. On Feb. 5, 1999, a young Pierce made his Celtics and NBA debut against the Toronto Raptors at the Garden. Pierce’s promise was on display even then — he tallied 19 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four blocks and two steals in Boston’s season-opening loss. (The 1998-99 NBA season didn’t start until February due to a lockout). Pierce will close the chapter on his Boston career

Linda Holliday’s Swarovski Crystal Bill Belichick Hoodie Is Amazingly Extra

Share this: It’s going to be hard to miss Linda Holliday during Super Bowl LI. Keeping in form with the fashion choices of her boyfriend, New England head coach Bill Belichick, Holliday purchased a new hoodie ahead of the big game between the Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons. However, it’s slightly less subtle than Belichick’s usual gray, blue and sleeveless attire. The designer, Leah Miller, has outfitted wives, girlfriends and family members across the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL in blinged-out jerseys, coats and other accessories, according to photos from her website. Plenty of Patriots supporters have purchased them, too, including Vince Wilfork’s wife (she owns quite a few), Jerod Mayo’s wife, Randy Moss’ former girlfriend and Deion Branch’s wife, sister and mother. C.J. McCollum Decks Chandler Parsons In Twitter Spat With Ruthless Burn

C.J. McCollum Decks Chandler Parsons In Twitter Spat With Ruthless Burn

There’s nothing quite like a good athlete Twitter beef, and we got a juicy one Friday night. This spat actually started with the Portland Trail Blazers’ team account, which put Memphis Grizzlies forward Chandler Parsons on blast for airballing a 3-pointer in Friday’s contest. Parsons saw the dig after the game, a 112-109 Portland win, and decided to call the Blazers out for their low blow. Portland is ninth in the Western Conference and could be destined for the NBA lottery if it doesn’t turn things around, so this is a decent burn. But there’s no way Parsons was prepared for what Blazers guard C.J. McCollum tweeted next. Y... NESN.com

Brian Scalabrine Wears Ridiculous Neon-Green Jacket At Celtics-Magic

Share this: Brian Scalabrine didn’t see the court much during his time with the Boston Celtics, but that didn’t stop him from becoming a fan favorite. Scalabrine, who now works as an NBA analyst for CSNNE, decided to spice up his sideline reporting by donning a hilarious neon-green jacket. This wasn’t just any neon-green jacket, though, as it was custom-made to honor Scalabrine and covered with pictures of his face. Despite the jacket being made in Scalabrine’s honor, it’s hilariously ironic that the fan misspelled the 11-year NBA veteran’s last name. If you’re Scalabrine, you have to appreciate the love from the fans, even when they misprint your surname. Isaiah Thomas Has Beef With NBA 2K Video Game, Wants It To Be More Realistic

Share this: Isaiah Thomas is having a monster season for the Boston Celtics. At just 5-foot-9, Thomas is currently fourth in the NBA in scoring, averaging 28.7 points per game. On Thursday, the NBA 2K17 video game tweeted at Thomas, showing appreciation towards his unexpected rise to stardom. Thomas appreciated the love, but expressed an issue he had with the game. @NBA2K appreciate the love but damn Can you make me more realistic in the game? Like be able to get a shot off in the paint lol. — Isaiah Thomas (@Isaiah_Thomas) January 19, 2017 Thomas does have a legitimate gripe. Aside from being a terrific 3-point shooter, he has shown on countless occasions his ability to drive to the basket and score in the paint. IT
