Colorful Odell Beckham Jr. Cleats Salute Late NBA Reporter Craig Sager

Share this: Craig Sager’s death Thursday after his lengthy bout with cancer touched many, including athletes outside the NBA world. New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. became the latest to honor the legendary TNT sideline reporter Sunday, when it was announced he would wear colorful cleats reminiscent of Sager’s suits, then auction them off to Sager’s foundation. Beckham can’t wear the cleats during the game because of the NFL’s strict uniform rules, but it appears he rocked them during pregame warmups. The cleats were taped up, but the salmon-colored sole seemed to give away what they were. Beckham isn’t the only NFL player planning to honor Sager with custom footwear. Earlier in the week, Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate, whose

Roger Goodell ‘Misspoke’ About When Giants Told NFL About Deflategate 2

Roger Goodell made a boo-boo. SAD! In an exact 180 from how the league handled the original Deflategate involving Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, the league came out right away and tried to put the Deflategate 2 scandal between the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers to bed. The NFL commissioner even told reporters Wednesday that the league was “comfortable” with how it handled the latest deflated-football controversy. But he also made a pretty important error during the press conference when he said the Giants raised their concerns about the PSI during the teams’ Week 13 matchup, which the NFL since has said wasn’t the case. ... by Zack Cox on Wed, Dec 7, 2016 at 11:08AM 2,603 Share this: The 2016 NFL season has been a rough one for Stephen Gostkowski, but the New England Patriots kicker might finally be rounding into form. Gostkowski drilled all four of his field-goal attempts and hit on both of his extra points in Sunday’s 26-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams, earning him AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. Gostkowski was the NFL’s most accurate kicker over the previous three seasons, but he’s struggled during the current campaign, missing seven kicks (four field goals, three extra points) through 12 games. Sunday marked just his fifth perfect effort this season. “It’s a start,” Gostkowski said after the game.

Joe McKnight’s Alleged Killer, Ronald Gasser, Arrested On Manslaughter Charge

Share this: It took nearly a week, but it appears justice is being served in the death of Joe McKnight. Ronald Gasser, the man accused of shooting and killing the former NFL running back at an intersection in broad daylight, was arrested Monday on one count of manslaughter, according to Jefferson Parish (La.) Correctional Center records. Gasser allegedly killed McKnight last Thursday in a road rage incident Terrytown, La., reportedly shooting him three times and at one point telling the 28-year-old, “I told you, don’t you f— with me,” according to an eyewitness. Yet Gasser initially wasn’t even charged in the incident despite turning himself over to police and was released later that night after briefly being taken into custody. In another strange twist, Gasser also was
