Well that was one heck of a start to the 2016-17 Boston Bruins season. The B’s hit the road for their season opener against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night and left Nationwide Arena happy as clams following an exciting, come-from-behind 6-3 win to kick things off. Boston trailed 2-0 after one period and 3-1 early in the second, but Boston’s defense and first line took over from there. Each of Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak and David Backes scored two goals, while Marchand had an incredible five-point performance in the comeback. BOSTON — The Red Sox are coming off a two-game sweep of the San Francisco Giants, and now it’s Steven Wright’s turn to keep up Boston’s winning ways. The knuckleballer will be on the mound Thursday for the first contest of the Red Sox’s four-game series against the Minnesota Twins. Wright has had a little bit of trouble in July so far, putting up a 6.35 ERA in three starts, but he still earned the win in each of those games.
