We knew Chris Sale’s outing Tuesday night was going to be brief, but not even the left-hander probably thought it would be that brief. Sale tossed just one inning against the Toronto Blue Jays in his return to the mound, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless frame. After the Boston Red Sox’s 7-2 win at Fenway Park, Sale admitted he was a little erratic and rushed things a bit. Red Sox’s Rick Porcello Bemoans Walks Allowed In Outing Vs. White Sox
Rick Porcello had allowed one walk or less in seven of his 13 outings entering Sunday. Unfortunately for the Boston Red Sox starter, he had trouble finding the strike zone in the series finale against the Chicago White Sox. The veteran right-hander allowed three free-passes to the Southsiders, including a bases-loaded walk in the third inning, as Chicago grabbed a 5-2 victory at Fenway Park. Red Sox Starter David Price Felt Good In Saturday’s Outing Vs. Blue Jays
David Price looked sharp in his return to the mound. After getting scratched from his start Wednesday to undergo testing on his hand (which revealed a mild case of carpal tunnel), Price returned to pitch Saturday in the Boston Red Sox’s 5-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. In the start, the lefty struck out six while allowing two runs on five hits with three walks over 5 1/3 innings. After the game, Price indicated that he felt good and kept getting better as he continued throwing.
