Patriots Film Review: Examining Failed Goal-Line Series In Loss To Seahawks

Share this: The New England Patriots didn’t lose Sunday night solely because of a final offensive goal-line series in which they gained just 1 yard on four plays, but they trailed the Seattle Seahawks by seven points late in the fourth quarter, and the game fittingly came down to a pass from the 1-yard line. Let’s go through that final offensive series, when the Patriots failed to convert. The Patriots got to the 2-yard line on deep passes from Tom Brady to Julian Edelman (30 yards) and Rob Gronkowski (26 yards). On first and goal with 43 seconds remaining, the Patriots ran a quarterback keeper with Brady in which they admittedly intended not to score. Brady previously had converted on two short-yardage situations earlier

Patriots-Seahawks Takeaways: Cornerbacks Flounder In Week 10 Loss

Share this: It’s time to start worrying about the New England Patriots’ defense. The Patriots led the NFL in points allowed per game entering their Week 10 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks and dropped all the way down to sixth after the 31-24 loss. The Patriots’ defense wasn’t passing the “eye test” even while preventing points, and their level of competition wasn’t exactly high-powered, but they were still winning. The Seahawks are the type of team the Patriots will face in the playoffs, and they struggled and lost. Some of the Patriots’ biggest issues came in pass coverage. Here’s how the Patriots individually fared in pass coverage, pass rush, pass protection and accuracy. PASS COVERAGELogan Ryan: 6-12, 101 yards, TD, PBUMalcolm Butler: 7-8, 66 yards, TDElandon

Malcolm Butler Continues To Be Lockdown Cornerback Patriots Need

Share this: ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — There is no doubt who the No. 1 cornerback on the New England Patriots is this season. Malcolm Butler continued his impressive streak of performances Sunday by allowing just two catches for 15 yards on six targets in the Patriots’ 41-25 win over the Buffalo Bills. Since allowing over 100 yards against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2, Butler, in a six-game stretch, has given up just 12 catches on 34 targets for 145 yards with a touchdown, interception and eight pass breakups. That’s a 46.8 passer rating against. On the season, he’s allowed 23 catches on 52 targets for 345 yards with a touchdown and interception. That’s a 65 passer rating against. Butler is playing like one of the best

Lüthi: “I knew that Morbidelli was reading me…”

Tom Lüthi (P1): "One of the TV journalists asked me on the grid if it is true that I had never won two races in a row and I obviously responded: "That is why I am here!" We tested different set-ups in the morning's warm-up but it did not work; I was far off and on the limit. We stepped back to what we had yesterday during the couple of minutes when the track was dry and it was great. My start was really good, I tried to get away, maintaining my pace but Pasini and then Morbidelli managed to stay with me. Each time I crossed the line I saw that the gap was very small, 1 tenth, 1

by Zack Cox on Sun, Oct 16, 2016 at 3:24PM 3,705 Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — It took until Week 6, but we finally saw the first Gronk Spike of the season Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski launched into his signature celebration after hauling in a 4-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady during the third quarter of the Patriots’ matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. The score came one play after Gronkowski rampaged through the Bengals’ defense on a 38-yard catch-and-run. He also notched another 38-yard reception on the Patriots’ next offensive drive to pass the 100-yard receiving mark for the second consecutive game. Stop What You’re Doing And Watch Ohio State’s Noah Brown Make All-Time Great Cat…

Share this: If you aren’t watching the Ohio State-Oklahoma game, you missed one of the best college football plays you’ll ever see. The Buckeyes’ Noah Brown went up to catch a 21-yard touchdown pass with six seconds remaining in the first half, but Sooners defensive back Michiah Quick was all over him and prevented Brown from seeing the ball come his way. But Brown somehow still made an incredible circus catch off Quick’s back, giving his team a 35-17 lead at the half. Oh. My. Goodness. It’s probably safe to say we’ll see that TD reception a few more times the rest of the season — and beyond. Thumbnail photo via Kevin Jairaj/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link

Watch Tom Brady Throw A TD Pass To His Son At Michigan’s ‘Big House’

Share this: We’re sure Tom Brady is itching to rejoin his New England Patriots teammates, but he’s certainly making the most of his newfound downtime. As his team prepares for a Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, the suspended Patriots quarterback and University of Michigan alum made the trip out to Ann Arbor, Mich., where he’ll be his alma mater’s honorary captain Saturday in its game against Colorado. So, on Friday night, Brady decided to take his son to the famed “Big House”  to show him around. That led to this awesome moment: TB12 throwing a touchdown pass to his son in the corner of the Michigan end zone. Now, that’s how you fulfill every young kid’s dream. (We like the post-TD dab,
